Brisket & Rice Celebrates Grand Opening of New Location on Highway 6 in Copperfield Area

September 15 2025

Brisket & Rice, the family-run restaurant that has captured national attention for its Vietnamese twist on Texas barbecue, has officially reopened in a brand-new location on Highway 6 North—just minutes from the heart of Copperfield.

After months of anticipation, delays, and a complete transition from its original home at FM 529 and Eldridge Parkway, the restaurant is now welcoming customers at 6166 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77084, in the former Aguirre’s/Cena’s space.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we were going through our transition,” the team shared ahead of the grand opening, which welcomed loyal fans and new customers on September 6, 2025. “We’re so glad to finally welcome you to our new home.”

A New Chapter with Familiar Flavor

Brisket & Rice first made waves in the Houston food scene with its standout dish—brisket fried rice—which combines smoked brisket, jasmine rice, Chinese sausage, and a fried egg into a flavorful masterpiece. In 2024, the restaurant earned a coveted spot in the Michelin Guide’s Best Barbecue in Texas, cementing its reputation as a hidden gem worth the drive.

Now, with more room to grow, Chef Hong Tran and his family are ready to bring the same bold flavors and warm hospitality to even more customers.

“We’ve worked hard to make sure that even if you can’t dine in with us, you can still enjoy the same quality experience at home,” Chef Tran said earlier this year. “Whether you’re here for the brisket or just to experience the flavors, we’re committed to making sure every order is perfect.”

What’s New at the Highway 6 Location

While loyal customers will recognize familiar elements—like the nostalgic wall decor designed to resemble old-school Vietnamese and American business advertisements—the new space offers several upgrades:

  • A spacious covered patio perfect for outdoor dining in any season
  • More seating for dine-in guests, accommodating the restaurant’s loyal following
  • Expanded kitchen space to help meet demand for both dine-in and takeout orders

The move not only gives Brisket & Rice a fresh start but also strengthens the culinary landscape in the Copperfield area, where foodies and families alike can now enjoy an acclaimed dining experience without traveling far.

Local Roots, Global Praise

Brisket & Rice’s new home may be larger, but the heart of the operation remains the same: family, flavor, and a love for local ingredients. The restaurant continues to prioritize fresh, locally sourced produce and meats, with a menu that balances traditional Texas BBQ with the aromatic influences of Vietnamese home cooking.

Signature menu items include their Michelin-praised brisket fried rice, house-smoked pork ribs praised for their tenderness and subtle smokiness, Frito pie and creamy mac & cheese as fan-favorite sides.

The restaurant’s story has always been one of perseverance and passion—a journey that began in a modest strip mall and now continues in a high-profile spot along one of Cy-Fair’s busiest commercial corridors.
