The wait is over, Katy. On Tuesday, February 6, Blo Blow Dry Bar will officially open its doors at Grand Lakes Marketplace, bringing its signature “pink carpet treatment” to one of the fastest-growing beauty destinations in Greater Houston.
Located at 6645 S Fry Rd, Suite 100 near Whole Foods Market, Blo Blow Dry Bar Katy is more than just a salon—it's a space designed to uplift, pamper, and glam up the community with professional styling and makeup services in a modern, welcoming environment.
Founded in 2007, Blo Blow Dry Bar has expanded to over 140 locations across the U.S. and Canada, redefining the salon experience with its “no cuts, no color—just wash, blo, and go” concept. Katy’s new location will offer the full menu of Blo services, including blow outs, deep conditioning treatments, makeup artistry, and more—all designed to make clients look and feel their best, whether for a weekday refresh or a big celebration.

The Katy bar is locally owned by longtime resident Kara, who opened her first Blo location in College Station in 2024. Now, she’s bringing her passion for beauty—and her business savvy—to her own community.

“After spending more than a decade as a stay-at-home mom to three very precious and rowdy boys, I decided to pursue my dream of owning a business in the beauty industry,” Kara shared. “Blo is the perfect fit! I’ve lived in Katy for 12 years, and my goal is to make Blo Katy a destination for people who want to look and feel fabulous.”
With a background in accounting, Kara manages every aspect of the business and is committed to building a diverse and supportive team of stylists. Her vision? An inclusive and joyful salon where everyone—regardless of age, background, or style—is celebrated.
Beauty Services Tailored for Every Occasion
At Blo Blow Dry Bar Katy, guests can expect a full range of professional hair and makeup services, including everything from classic blow outs and styling with extensions to deep conditioning, scalp treatments, and specialty smoothing services. Makeup offerings include full-face applications, express touch-ups, and lash enhancements. Even the littlest clients are covered, with kid-friendly styling available for ages 8 and under.
Blo Blow Dry Bar Katy will be open Monday–Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday–Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. , and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early morning and late evening services are available by appointment to accommodate busy schedules.
