Best Trash FAQ's
April 05 2022
With spring cleaning and yard sprucing in full swing, here are a few reminders regarding your trash service.
Q: Do they pick up tree branches?
A: Yes, they do pick up tree branches, shrubs and brush trimmings, but they need to be properly tied and bundled. Please separate the bundles to show they are clearly tied and bundled. All tied bundles must be less than 40 pounds and no greater than 4 feet in length with no branch diameter exceeding 3 inches. These requirements allow for easier pick up and prevent damage to our equipment. Please limit to no more than 5 tied bundles at a time.
Q: Can I fill my trashcan with branches or wood?
A: No, please do not use your trashcan to fill up with wood or branches. Although it may seem easier, it is more difficult and unsafe for the employees. Please refer to the rules regarding limbs, fencing or any type of lumber.
Q: What are our trash/recycle days?
A: Lakemont trash pick-up comes 2 times a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. Recycle and Heavy Trash days are on Thursdays. Please make sure that trash is not blocked by vehicles.
Q: What counts as Heavy Trash?
A: Please limit heavy items to 1 or 2 items per collections day. Examples of heavy items that will be picked up include: appliances, furniture, and mattresses and box springs. Constructions debris will not be picked up, including shingles, sheetrock, and insulation.
