Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii to Expand in Cypress with Second Location Opening This Fall
A second Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is on its way to the Cypress area. This new location is set to open at the former PJ's Coffee at 11930 Barker Cypress Road, Cypress, TX 77433. Renovations are slated to begin in early August and are expected to conclude by early October, according to TDLR.
The franchise owners of the first Cypress Bad Ass Coffee, Heath Rushing and Kyle Price, will be bringing the second location to the Cypress community, according to a representative for Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. As part of the coffee chain's wider expansion goal in 2022 of opening 150 new stores over the next five years, Rushing and Price signed a 10-unit development deal for West Houston and Galveston. Their first store, located at 12904 Fry Road in Cypress, opened its doors in September 2023.
Rushing and Price, seasoned healthcare executives in Houston, have worked together for many years. Their mutual love for coffee and entrepreneurial spirit led them to Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “After our introduction with the Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii leadership team, we knew right away that this was the brand for us,” explained Price. Rushing added that they aim to fuel customers' inner ‘badass’ with energy and kindness.
The duo aim to develop all ten units over the next few years in West Houston and Galveston Island. Their focus is on tapping into the robust Houston market's growth and the unique opportunity to scale a distinctive coffee concept.
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989, is acclaimed for its American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee, sourced from the Kona region of the Big Island, Kauai, and Maui. The menu offers more than coffee, with blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, teas, innovative food items with a Hawaiian twist, and branded merchandise.
