Austin Regional Clinic Opens New South Austin Specialty Clinic, Expanding Access to Specialty Care, Surgery, and Diagnostic Services
As South Austin continues to grow, access to healthcare remains a top priority for many families. Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) is responding to that demand with the opening of ARC South Specialty, a new multi-specialty medical facility designed to bring a wide range of specialty, diagnostic, and surgical services together in one centralized location.
The new clinic, which officially opened June 1, is located at 708 West Ben White Boulevard and serves as a key component of the expanding ARC South Medical Campus. For South Austin residents, the addition means more convenient access to specialists, on-site testing, and coordinated care without needing to travel across the region for multiple appointments.
What the New ARC South Specialty Clinic Means for South Austin
Healthcare accessibility is a growing concern in rapidly expanding communities across Central Texas. By consolidating specialty care, primary care, diagnostics, and future surgical services within a single campus, ARC aims to simplify the patient experience while helping meet increasing healthcare demand in the area.
The 63,000-square-foot facility spans two levels and includes more than 100 exam rooms, treatment spaces, cardiology laboratories, on-site radiology, and laboratory services. The building will also house ARC Surgery Center South, the organization's second outpatient surgery center, which is expected to open later this summer.
According to ARC President and CEO Dr. Anas Daghestani, the new facility represents an important milestone for both the organization and the communities it serves.
"The opening of ARC South Specialty as part of ARC South Medical Campus is an important milestone for ARC, offering patients in South Austin access to more specialty, primary, and surgical care in one centralized location," said Daghestani. "The clinic furthers ARC's mission to meet the growing need for coordinated, comprehensive, and accessible health care in South Austin and beyond."
Specialty Services Now Available
Patients began accessing several specialty services when the clinic opened June 1, including:
- Dermatology
- OLINO Medical Aesthetics (formerly ARC Medical Aesthetics)
- Neurology
- Podiatry
- Rheumatology and Infusion Therapy
Additional specialty services launched June 8, including:
- Allergy and Asthma
- Audiology
- Cardiology
- Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine
The facility is staffed by 36 physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs), with several providers relocating from other ARC locations across Austin to serve patients at the new clinic. ARC has also added new specialists in podiatry, neurology, cardiology, ENT, and orthopedics.
A Growing Presence in Central Texas
Founded in 1980 by three Austin physicians, Austin Regional Clinic has grown into one of the largest physician-owned healthcare organizations in Central Texas. The healthcare group now serves approximately 700,000 patients across dozens of locations throughout the region.
While ARC has become a familiar healthcare provider for many Central Texans, the organization has continued expanding in response to population growth and increasing demand for specialty care. ARC South Specialty becomes the system's 37th clinic in Central Texas and follows the opening of ARC Greenlawn Specialty in Round Rock earlier this year.
Today, ARC employs more than 450 physicians and clinicians and offers services ranging from family medicine and pediatrics to cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology, neurology, and surgical care.
Why Centralized Medical Campuses Are Becoming More Common
Healthcare systems across Texas and the nation have increasingly invested in medical campuses that bring multiple services together under one roof. The model is designed to reduce travel time, improve coordination among providers, and give patients easier access to diagnostics, specialists, and follow-up care.
For patients managing chronic conditions or requiring treatment from multiple specialists, having services located within the same campus can streamline scheduling and communication among care teams.
ARC South Medical Campus now includes:
- ARC South Specialty
- ARC Surgery Center South (opening later this summer)
- ARC South 1st
- ARC South 1st Pediatrics
Patients at the new facility will also have access to online scheduling, the ARC MyChart patient portal, 24/7 nurse triage services, after-hours clinics, telemedicine options, and coordinated care across the ARC network.
What Happens Next
The next major milestone for the campus will be the opening of ARC Surgery Center South later this summer. Once operational, the outpatient surgery center will further expand the range of services available at the South Austin location, allowing patients to access specialty consultations, diagnostics, and select surgical procedures within the same medical campus.
As South Austin continues to attract new residents and businesses, healthcare infrastructure projects such as ARC South Specialty reflect broader efforts to expand access to medical services close to where people live and work.
