Annual Arbor Day Tree Dedication Hosted by Hearthstone Garden Club Rescheduled
Submitted by the Hearthstone Garden Club
UPDATE: Because of the extremely cold weather predicted for the morning of January 25, the Hearthstone Garden Club has decided to reschedule the Arbor Day Celebration for Saturday, March 1st when the extremely cold weather we are about to receive should be behind us!
The Hearthstone Garden Club invites all Hearthstone residents to join us on Saturday, March 1st at 10:00 AM in Bob Allen Park for Hearthstone's annual Arbor Day Tree Dedication. This year, the Hearthstone Garden Club has planted two trees. One, a Chinese Fringe tree, will be dedicated to Jessie Natoli, longtime Hearthstone resident, garden club member and beloved English teacher for over 30 years. The other, a Shumard Oak, will be dedicated to Reinette 'Cott' Miller, former President of the Hearthstone Garden Club and Hearthstone resident since 1990.
For the ceremony, attendees will gather at the large pavilion on the west side of the park at 10 AM. Your local Cub Scout Pack 1187 will be presenting the flag ceremony to initiate the Arbor Day celebration. They are also "Scouting for food" to help our neighbors through the local MESA Outreach Food Pantry. Bring a few non-perishable food items to help them meet their goal of giving.
