Katy ISD Board of Trustees to Hold Regular Meeting on July 29
The Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) Board of Trustees will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, July 29, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, Texas 77494. The Open Meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, a free livestream service will be provided, allowing the public to view the meeting online at Katy ISD Board Meeting Livestream. The complete agenda documents will be accessible on the day of the meeting via BoardDocs.com.
During Katy ISD Board of Trustees meetings, the public has an opportunity to speak, but intentions must be filed in advance. To participate in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation segment of this meeting, individuals must sign up by sending an email to publicrecords@katyisd.org by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024. Attendees who successfully sign up and arrive 15 minutes before the meeting will have the opportunity to address the Board.
The Board meeting's agenda includes numerous important topics, such as the superintendent's quarterly evaluation, the 2024-2025 Budget Update, progress reports on various initiatives and discussions on property acquisitions for a Junior High site. The Board will also take into account public comments on agenda and non-agenda items.
The Board will adjourn to a closed meeting to discuss sensitive subjects such as safety/security updates and consultation with the Board's attorney. After reconvening from the closed meeting, the Board will consider actions based on discussions held during the closed session.
The meeting will also include discussions on the Board Academic Quarterly Report, consideration of budget amendments, approval of financial reports, and approvals for various contracts and agreements. The proposal to name a portion of a facility at Cinco Ranch High School in honor of Don Clayton will also be under consideration, as well as approval of the design associated with the renovation to Katy Junior High School.
To successfully engage in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation part of the meeting, remember to sign up via email and arrive early. The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2024, and a Board Work Study Meeting is planned for August 19, 2024.
