Typhoon Texas in Katy Celebrates Houston’s 713 Day with $7.13 Waterpark Admission

Katy / Fulshear  /  West Houston / Cypress
July 07 2026

In Katy, summer days have a rhythm of their own. The kids are out of school, the heat sets in early, and families start looking for something close to home that feels fun without turning into a full production.

That is where Typhoon Texas has become a familiar part of the west Houston summer routine. Located next to Katy Mills Mall on Katy Fort Bend Road, the waterpark is the kind of place many local families have driven past a hundred times, visited for birthday parties, or counted on when the Texas heat makes anything indoors feel too small.

This year, Typhoon Texas is tying that summer tradition to one of Houston’s favorite unofficial celebrations: 713 Day.

On Monday, July 13, Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy will offer one-day admission for just $7.13 to the first 713 guests who purchase tickets at the Typhoon Texas ticket window. The offer is a nod to Houston’s original 713 area code, which has become a symbol of H-Town pride and a reason for restaurants, attractions and local businesses across the region to celebrate the city’s culture, music, food and neighborhoods.

What Is the Typhoon Texas 713 Day Deal?

The Typhoon Texas 713 Day deal includes $7.13 admission for the first 713 guests who buy tickets at the waterpark ticket window on Monday, July 13. Once those discounted tickets are sold, regular admission will apply.

Along with the limited admission offer, guests can enjoy select food and beverage specials priced at $7.13, live music, face painting and family-friendly activities celebrating Houston culture.

For parents searching for things to do with kids in Katy, west Houston summer activities, or family-friendly 713 Day events near Houston, the offer gives families a way to cool off and celebrate close to home.

A Houston Celebration with a Katy Twist

For families in Katy, Cinco Ranch, Fulshear, Richmond, Cypress and West Houston, 713 Day is not just something happening inside the Loop. It belongs to the whole Houston area, including the suburbs that help shape the region’s identity.

Typhoon Texas is leaning into that connection with a day built around summer fun and hometown pride.

“713 Day has become a fun Houston tradition, and we wanted to celebrate it in a way only Typhoon Texas can,” said John Pham, Vice President of Marketing for Typhoon Texas. “Whether you're cooling off on our slides, floating the lazy river or enjoying great food and entertainment, it's a chance for Houstonians to show their hometown pride while making summer memories with family and friends.”

What Families Can Expect at Typhoon Texas in Katy

Now celebrating its eleventh year, Typhoon Texas offers multiple water slides, a massive wave pool, a winding lazy river and a child-friendly play area. That includes Typhoon Jr., which features five junior-sized versions of some of the park’s most popular waterslides for younger guests.

For local families, the timing is hard to ignore. By the middle of July, many parents are past the first wave of camps, vacations and summer plans and deep into the “what are we doing today?” stretch. A discounted waterpark day close to home gives families another way to get out, cool off and make the most of the season without driving across town.

Where Is Typhoon Texas Located?

Typhoon Texas is located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Road in Katy, next to Katy Mills Mall and about 1.5 miles west of the Grand Parkway. For anyone who lives in the Katy area, the location is easy to picture: just off one of the busiest family and shopping corridors in the community, near restaurants, stores and the steady summer traffic that comes with west Houston life.

The park offers free onsite parking, free tubes and free life jackets, which can make a big difference for families trying to keep the day simple. Guests can also look into cabana rentals and season passes through the park’s website.

For Houstonians, 713 Day is about more than an area code. It is a small but growing tradition that lets people celebrate the city in their own way. At Typhoon Texas, that celebration will look like kids racing toward the slides, parents finding a little shade, music playing, and families spending a July day together close to home.
