Tompkins Theatre Company Presents The Wizard of Oz
Tompkins Theatre Company invites the Katy community to journey down the Yellow Brick Road with their production of The Wizard of Oz. Performances will take place at the Tompkins High School Performing Arts Center on January 24, 25, 30, 31, and February 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM, with a special matinee on January 25 at 1:00 PM.
This beloved musical adaptation brings to life the timeless story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl swept away from her Kansas home by a tornado and transported to the magical land of Oz. Alongside her faithful dog, Toto, Dorothy embarks on an unforgettable adventure, meeting the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. Together, they face the challenges posed by the Wicked Witch of the West and seek the help of the Wizard of Oz to fulfill their dreams and bring Dorothy back home.
Featuring iconic songs like "Over the Rainbow," "We're Off to See the Wizard," and "If I Only Had a Brain," this production captures the charm and wonder of the original 1939 film while celebrating the universal themes of courage, friendship, and self-discovery.

The Wizard of Oz features music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, with background music by Herbert Stothart and orchestrations by Larry Wilcox. Adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the production is based on the classic motion picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed by Warner Bros.
Tickets for The Wizard of Oz are priced at $15 for students and $20 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at Tompkins Theatre Company’s ticketing site.
