Tomball’s First Sam’s Club Announces November 19, 2026 Grand Opening at The Grand at 249

Tomball / Magnolia
October 27 2026

For Tomball-area residents who have been watching construction progress at The Grand at 249, the wait for one of the development's biggest new retailers is nearly over. Sam's Club has officially announced that its first Tomball location will open Thursday, November 19, 2026, giving families and businesses across Tomball, Magnolia, Cypress and northwest Houston another option for buying groceries, household essentials and other merchandise in bulk.

The announcement comes directly from the Sam's Club Tomball Facebook page, which recently shared the news with future shoppers: "Your new Sam’s Club opens November 19th!"

Located at 13255 N. Grand Parkway W. in Tomball, near the intersection of the Grand Parkway (SH 99) and Highway 249, the new membership warehouse is one of the largest additions to The Grand at 249, a growing retail and restaurant development that has already brought several familiar businesses to the area.

For local residents who have followed the project since it was first announced in 2025, the opening date is welcome news. The store was originally expected to open during summer 2026, but that timeline shifted as construction continued.

What to Know About the New Sam's Club in Tomball

The approximately 166,664-square-foot Sam's Club will offer the wholesale shopping experience the retailer is known for, including bulk groceries, fresh produce, meats, bakery items, electronics, furniture, appliances, clothing and household products.

For families looking to stretch their grocery budgets, parents stocking up on school lunches and snacks, or small business owners purchasing supplies, the new location will offer an alternative to traveling to existing Sam's Club stores elsewhere in the Houston area.

The Tomball store, designated Sam's Club #4868, will be the company's first location in Tomball and its 19th in the Greater Houston region.

Shoppers can also expect the retailer's Member's Mark private-label products and digital shopping options, including Scan & Go, which allows members to scan items using the Sam's Club app, pay through their phones and bypass traditional checkout lines.

Sam's Club also offers services such as curbside pickup and delivery, although shoppers should check the new club's official website for availability and service details once it opens.

New Sam's Club Fuel Station Also Coming to Tomball

The new warehouse isn't the only addition planned for Sam's Club members.

A separate Sam's Club fuel station at 13609 Rocky Road in Tomball, located within The Grand at 249, is scheduled to open November 5, 2026, ahead of the warehouse's grand opening, according to an October 27 report from USA TODAY.

The fuel station will provide another option for Sam's Club members who regularly travel along the Grand Parkway, Highway 249 and surrounding roads.

With a growing number of households in the Tomball, Magnolia and Cypress areas, having another place to purchase fuel while running errands could be particularly convenient for daily commuters and families who already shop at warehouse clubs.

Fuel prices vary by location and market conditions, but access to member-only fuel pricing is one of the benefits offered through Sam's Club memberships.

The Grand at 249 Continues to Bring New Shopping and Dining Options to Tomball

The new Sam's Club is also an important piece of a much larger development taking shape at one of Tomball's busiest highway intersections.

Developed and marketed by Houston-based commercial real estate firm NewQuest, The Grand at 249 is a 65-acre mixed-use development spanning portions of the northwest and southwest corners of Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway.

The project is bringing together restaurants, national retailers, fitness businesses and everyday services in an area surrounded by established neighborhoods and continuing residential growth.

Several restaurants have already opened in the development, including Portillo's, Bojangles, Chick-fil-A, Gringo's Tex-Mex, Black Bear Diner and Jersey Mike's, giving residents more dining choices without having to travel farther into Houston.

And there is still plenty more planned.

According to NewQuest's September 2026 leasing materials, The Grand at 249 has secured spaces for several major retailers, including Dick's Sporting Goods, Burlington, Ross Dress for Less, Petco and Dollar Tree.

The development's plans also identify businesses such as Starbucks, Bruster's Ice Cream, Tony C's Pizza, Big City Wings, Club Pilates, EoS Fitness and several additional restaurants and service providers.

Other names appearing in the developer's plans include Sephora, Bath & Body Works, Cavender's, Dave's Hot Chicken and Whataburger, although those businesses are identified as proposed and their plans remain subject to change.

Not all of the businesses listed in NewQuest's materials are open yet, and individual construction and opening timelines will vary.

The addition of Sam's Club gives the development a major wholesale retailer alongside its growing collection of restaurants and traditional retail stores, creating more opportunities for residents to combine shopping, dining and other errands into one trip.

Why the New Sam's Club Matters for Tomball, Magnolia and Cypress

The area surrounding Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway has changed considerably in recent years as new homes, businesses and commercial developments have continued to expand northwest Houston's suburban communities.

NewQuest's 2026 demographic materials estimate that approximately 167,688 people live within five miles of The Grand at 249, with population growth of approximately 7.9% within a three-mile radius between 2020 and 2026.

That growth helps explain why major retailers are investing in the corridor.

For residents of Tomball, Magnolia, Cypress and nearby communities, the new Sam's Club will provide another place to purchase everything from groceries and household supplies to seasonal merchandise and larger purchases.

It also means shoppers who previously drove to Sam's Club locations in Willowbrook, Spring, Jersey Village or other parts of the Greater Houston area may soon have a more convenient option.

For nearby neighborhoods, the opening is another step in the ongoing transformation of the Grand Parkway and Highway 249 intersection into a destination for shopping, dining and services.

Sam's Club Tomball Opening Date, Address and Membership Information

The new Sam's Club is scheduled to open Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 13255 N. Grand Parkway W., Tomball, TX 77375.

The separate fuel station at 13609 Rocky Road is scheduled to open November 5, 2026.

Residents interested in shopping at the new location can visit the official Sam's Club Tomball #4868 website to explore membership options, browse merchandise and check for updates about store hours and available services.

Sam's Club offers two membership tiers, Club and Plus, with different benefits depending on the level selected. Memberships can be purchased online before the store opens.

Additional information about grand-opening festivities, special promotions and any opening-day activities may be announced closer to November 19.

For those who have watched the large warehouse take shape along the Grand Parkway, the opening date marks the next milestone in a development that continues to change the shopping landscape in Tomball.

And with more businesses still preparing to open at The Grand at 249, residents can expect additional changes around this busy intersection in the months ahead.
