The Woodlands Show Chorus Announces Guest Night: An Evening of Harmony and Fun on Feb. 26
The Woodlands Show Chorus presents their Guest Night at the First Presbyterian Church Family Life Center, located at 2727 North Loop 336 W in Conroe, starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited, whether they are passionate about singing, eager to savor great music, or simply looking for a delightful evening of friendship and cookies, this is a great event for the community!
Directed by the accomplished Master Director and world-renowned Coach, Betty Clipman, with Associate Director Kerri Mauney, The Woodlands Show Chorus is an award-winning women’s a cappella group. Comprising talented singers from Beaumont, Houston, and the Conroe/The Woodlands surrounding areas, the chorus is a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a global organization with over 500 choruses, emphasizing top-tier education and excellence.
Having achieved a remarkable Top Ten placement at the Sweet Adelines International Competition in Phoenix in 2022, the chorus has continued to captivate audiences through various performances, including those for local organizations and as the opener for the Houston Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute at the Cynthia Woods Memorial Pavilion. Clinching victory in the Region 10 competition in Spring 2023, the chorus is gearing up for an international showdown in Kansas City in the Fall of 2024. Members fondly refer to Mondays as JOY DAY, as they eagerly attend rehearsals with friends, relishing the joy of singing and the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
Qualifying members joining by June 1 will have the chance to showcase their talent in performances, shows, and international competition in 2024. Auditions are required for participation in this vocal ensemble, and members receive sheet music and digital learning tracks for all songs. Rehearsals are filled with physical and vocal warm-ups, vocal skills training, section work, duets, song segments, full run-throughs, and choreography.
