The Little Gym Expands to Southeast Austin with New Goodnight Ranch Location

January 30 2026

Families in Southeast Austin will soon have a new place to play, learn, and grow with the opening of The Little Gym in the heart of the Goodnight Ranch community. Located at 9021 Goodnight Ranch Blvd., Suite 1300, this upcoming facility marks an exciting expansion of the internationally recognized franchise, which has been helping children build confidence through movement for nearly five decades.

Privately funded and built within a mixed-use retail and business space known as The Ramble, the new Little Gym location will occupy a 2,713-square-foot suite on the building’s third floor. Minimal demolition is required, with construction focused on building out walls and finishing the space to meet the needs of the gym’s signature programming. According to official permit filings, work is slated to begin February 17, 2026, with a projected completion date of March 31, 2026.

A Legacy of Learning Through Play

Founded in 1976 by educator and musician Robin Wes, The Little Gym began with a simple mission: to help children develop physical skills in a fun, music-filled, non-competitive environment. Since then, the brand has grown into a trusted leader in early childhood development with over 400 locations worldwide and dozens across the United States, including several established locations in the Austin metro area.

In Greater Austin, The Little Gym currently operates in neighborhoods such as Round Rock, Westlake, and Bee Cave, each offering the same evidence-based, play-focused programming that has made the brand a favorite among families. The new Southeast Austin location will help serve one of the city’s fastest-growing residential areas, offering local families more convenient access to high-quality enrichment opportunities.

Programs Designed for Every Stage

The Little Gym offers a wide range of classes for children ages 4 months to 12 years, each designed to support development across three key areas: physical strength, cognitive growth, and social-emotional confidence. Signature class categories include:

  • Parent/Child Classes: For infants and toddlers to bond with caregivers through movement and music.
  • Pre-K Gymnastics: Basic tumbling and coordination activities for preschool-aged children.
  • Grade School Gymnastics: Skill-building in balance, strength, flexibility, and confidence for older kids.
  • Dance and Sports Skills: Fun-focused programs introducing rhythm, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Kindermusik and Music Integration: Select locations offer music enrichment for young learners.
  • Birthday Parties and Camps: Private events and seasonal camps designed for maximum fun and flexibility.

All classes are led by trained instructors in a nurturing, safety-first environment with age-appropriate equipment and curriculum tailored to each developmental stage.

A New Resource for South Austin Families

With the Goodnight Ranch neighborhood continuing to attract young families, the addition of The Little Gym is a welcome resource for those seeking high-quality, local programming that fosters growth through active play. The Ramble’s third-floor location provides an ideal setting for a modern, light-filled studio space, and the surrounding community offers a built-in population of families eager for convenient enrichment options.

As Southeast Austin continues to evolve, the arrival of The Little Gym affirms the area's reputation as a family-friendly, forward-thinking part of the city. Interested families can expect class registration and grand opening announcements as construction nears completion this spring.
