Summer Safety in Cimarron: Protecting Our Kids and Property

June 18 2024

School is out, and the summer season is here! It's the time of year when our younger community members of Cimarron spend more time outdoors, immersing themselves in all the joys of summer. As they play in parks and walk to their friends’ homes, their safety becomes our communal responsibility. That's why it’s important to remember that our driving behavior must be cautious and considerate during this period.

Throughout the neighborhood, let's keep our eyes peeled and watch out for the kids. Drive slowly and carefully. A few extra seconds of caution may make all the difference in the world. Remember – their laughter should be the soundtrack of our summer, not the blaring of horns or screeching tires.

In addition to safeguarding our children, securing our property is equally important, especially at night. Despite law enforcement's vigilant efforts, we understand that there may be individuals wandering our streets, potentially looking for vulnerable targets. As responsible members of Cimarron, we can deny them this opportunity.

To start, let's ensure that our vehicles are locked, whether parked in the street or in your driveway. Leaving them unlocked is like rolling out a welcome mat for potential thieves. Moreover, make it a rule to never leave any valuables in plain sight within your vehicles. In doing so, we reduce the risk of our vehicles being damaged and our belongings being stolen.

Remember, the safety and security of all Cimarron residents are collaborative efforts. If you have any concerns or need to discuss any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Harris County Constable Precinct 5. Their dispatch center is just a call away at 281-463-6666. Together, we can ensure that this summer in Cimarron is safe, secure, and joyful for all.
