Spring 2026 at the Pearl Fincher Museum: Exhibition Opening, Sports Night Celebration, and Art Classes for All Ages

January 13 2026

As winter gives way to warmer days, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is ushering in a vibrant new season of creativity and community connection. With the grand opening of its Spring Exhibition on Saturday, January 31, a much-anticipated Sports Night event, and a fresh lineup of art classes for youth and adults alike, the Pearl is reaffirming its place as one of the region’s most vital cultural institutions.

International Art Exhibition: “Where Meanings Collide”

Launching Saturday, January 31, the Spring 2026 Exhibition titled “Where Meanings Collide: A Conversation on Abstraction” brings together internationally acclaimed artists Olga Tobreluts and Ivan Plusch. Their visually rich works explore the intersection of traditional painting and digital media, forming a dialogue between abstraction, figuration, and the evolving ways people engage with imagery in today's screen-saturated world.

This thought-provoking collection invites viewers to interpret vibrant canvases and shifting digital forms, offering a participatory experience in which the observer becomes part of the conversation. Organized with the support of Deborah Colton Gallery, the exhibition runs through May 16, 2026 and is free to the public during regular museum hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Sports Night Returns to the Pearl – January 31

The evening of January 31 also marks the return of Sports Night, a beloved tradition at the Pearl. This ticketed celebration includes a gourmet seated dinner, fine wine donated by Nice Winery, and the chance to hear directly from sports legends.

Guest speakers include:

  • Wade Phillips, former head coach of six NFL teams including the Houston Texans
  • Chad Hedrick, Olympic gold medalist and hometown hero from Spring
  • John McClain, renowned sportswriter and commentator
  • Dale Robertson, veteran journalist and sportswriter for Texas' major daily newspapers

The event begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 in the Main Gallery of the museum. Tables start at $3,000, and individual tickets are available for $300. Reservations can be made by calling 281-376-6322 or emailing donna@pearlmfa.org

About the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts

Known affectionately by locals as The Pearl, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts stands as the only fine arts museum in Harris County outside of Houston’s urban core. Located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive in Spring, the Pearl is a community gem offering free admission and programs year-round.

Established to provide direct access to original works of art and to foster education in the visual arts, the Pearl operates solely through donations, memberships, and community support. Its mission—anchored in art, education, and community—is brought to life through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and classes that enrich the lives of residents in Spring, Cypress, Tomball, and the broader Northwest Houston region.

With global exhibitions, homegrown talent, and a commitment to accessible art education, the Pearl continues to shape Spring’s cultural landscape throughout the year.
