Spicy Tails Art Sale 2026 Brings Crawfish Cook-Off, Zydeco Music and Youth Art Contest to The Woodlands Town Green Park

February 23 2026

Residents of The Woodlands looking for a way to spend a spring Saturday close to home won’t have to look far. On March 14, 2026, Spicy Tails Art Sale returns to Town Green Park, blending local art, live music, family activities and a competitive crawfish cook-off into one lively afternoon in the heart of the community.

Set for 2 to 6 p.m. at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380, the annual festival offers more than entertainment. It provides an opportunity for neighbors to gather, support local artists, celebrate young creatives and enjoy one of Southeast Texas’ favorite traditions — boiled crawfish — all in a setting many families already consider their backyard.

For homeowners, small businesses and families across The Woodlands, events like Spicy Tails Art Sale help reinforce what draws people to the area in the first place: accessible green space, strong community engagement and year-round cultural programming.

Crawfish Cook-Off Teams Needed in The Woodlands

One of the highlights of Spicy Tails Art Sale is the Crawfish Cook-Off — and local teams are encouraged to participate.

Awards will be presented for:

  • People’s Choice
  • Best Crawfish
  • Best Decorated Tent
  • Best Cajun Dish (optional category)

Participating teams will provide free samples to spectators, while supplies last, allowing attendees to vote for their favorites.

Residents who believe they have the best boiled crawfish in The Woodlands can submit a 2026 Crawfish Cook-Off application before Friday, February 27, 2026.

For local chefs, backyard boil enthusiasts and neighborhood friend groups, the cook-off offers a chance to showcase talent while contributing to the community atmosphere that makes spring festivals in The Woodlands so popular.

Youth Art Contest Celebrates “America 250” in The Woodlands

Spicy Tails Art Sale also puts young artists front and center through its annual Youth Art Contest, open to artists age 18 and younger.

The 2026 theme, “Celebrating America 250 In The Woodlands,” invites students to interpret the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States through a local lens. Entries will be displayed during the festival, and first-, second- and third-place winners from each category will be recognized on stage at 3:30 p.m.

Submissions will be accepted through Monday, March 9, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Families can learn more and download the 2026 Youth Art Contest entry form ahead of the deadline.

For parents and educators, the contest offers an opportunity to encourage creativity while giving students a public platform to share their work with neighbors and visitors alike.

Supporting Local Artists in The Woodlands

In addition to youth artwork, Spicy Tails Art Sale will feature a variety of art vendors offering original pieces and handcrafted goods for purchase. From paintings and mixed media to unique gift items, the event serves as a marketplace for local creatives.

Artists interested in participating can complete the 2026 Art Vendor application before Friday, March 6, 2026.

Community events like this often play an important role in supporting small businesses and independent artists across Montgomery County, keeping dollars circulating locally while strengthening The Woodlands’ cultural identity.
