Soliz Casa de Tacos & Café Opens in Richmond with Grand Opening Celebration and Community Spirit
A beloved Houston staple for authentic Mexican food has officially made its debut in Richmond. Soliz Casa de Tacos & Café opened the doors to its newest location at 11131 Harlem Road, Suite 110, Richmond, TX 77406, this morning—welcoming the community with a full day of festivities, flavor, and philanthropy.
Starting at 9:00 AM with a ceremonial ribbon cutting alongside the local Chamber of Commerce, the grand opening event is more than just a milestone for Soliz—it’s a vibrant celebration of family, tradition, and community connection. Doors opened to the public at 9:15 AM, with early guests treated to exciting perks: the very first customer earned free tacos for a year (a $1,100 value), while the first 50 through the doors received custom Soliz Richmond t-shirts, instantly becoming part of the “First 50 Elite.”
The celebrations continue throughout the day, offering something for everyone. From a 3:00 PM exotic car meet showcasing eye-catching custom rides, to a family-friendly evening from 4:00 to 7:00 PM featuring a live DJ, face painters, and balloon artists, the event promises food, fun, and memorable moments for Richmond residents of all ages.
And while the tacos are certainly the draw, the heart of the celebration is its purpose: 50% of all opening day sales will be donated to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, a nonprofit supporting local families in crisis. This charitable effort reflects Soliz's longstanding commitment to serving not just meals, but the broader community.

A Houston Tradition Expands West
Soliz Casa de Tacos began in 1984 as the dream of Ms. Soliz, who opened the original restaurant with a vision to share the bold, homemade flavors of her Mexican heritage with her Houston neighbors. What began as a humble endeavor grew into a trusted favorite for breakfast tacos, enchiladas, carne guisada, and freshly made salsas—all prepared with traditional methods, family spice blends, and love.
With tortillas hand-rolled daily and meats marinated in-house, Soliz Casa de Tacos quickly became more than just a restaurant—it became a cherished community gathering place.
In 2014, Ms. Soliz’s son Eric took the reins, ushering in a new era of revitalization and expansion. Under his leadership, the restaurant underwent a modern refresh while staying deeply rooted in its heritage. Then in 2024, Eric and his partners formed Soliz Tacos Inc., launching a strategic growth initiative that introduced a new logo, expanded café offerings, and laid the groundwork for multiple locations—including today’s Richmond debut.
Soliz Casa de Tacos & Café: Tradition Meets Innovation
The rebrand to Soliz Casa de Tacos & Café has introduced café-style hot beverages to the menu, enhancing the breakfast taco experience with fresh coffee and morning-friendly items. The Richmond location reflects this thoughtful evolution, combining the warmth of a family-owned eatery with conveniences like online ordering, delivery, and catering—appealing to today’s busy families and professionals without sacrificing authenticity.
