Slice of Venice Pizzeria in Spring Announces Permanent Closure After Nearly Two Years, Invites Community for One Last Visit

Northwest Houston
October 08 2026

For Spring residents who have enjoyed a fresh pizza, a plate of homemade pasta or a friendly conversation at Slice of Venice Pizzeria, there is some difficult news. The locally owned Italian restaurant at 5275 Louetta Road in Spring, Texas, has announced it will permanently close on Sunday, October 18, 2026, bringing an end to a small family business that its owners worked hard to build.

In an emotional announcement shared on October 7, the restaurant's owner, Inna Klebanskaya, and her team thanked customers for their kindness and encouragement while acknowledging that, despite their efforts, the business could no longer remain open.

The closure gives customers just over a week to return for a favorite meal, introduce a friend to the restaurant or simply stop by to thank the people behind the counter.

A Family-Owned Italian Restaurant That Found a Home in Spring

Slice of Venice opened in January 2025 along Louetta Road, bringing a menu of Italian-inspired dishes to the Spring dining scene. The restaurant built its identity around freshly prepared food, house-made pizza dough, handmade pasta and an approach to hospitality that emphasized making customers feel welcome.

Its menu featured New York-style pizzas alongside traditional Italian favorites, including Margherita, Capricciosa and Parmigiana pizzas. Customers could also choose from more distinctive creations such as the Venice Pizza, made with mozzarella, mushrooms, mortadella, Parmesan and balsamic vinegar.

Beyond pizza, Slice of Venice offered freshly prepared pasta dishes such as cacio e pepe, Bolognese, Alfredo, lasagna and pesto pasta. Its offerings also included Roman-style pinsa, paninis, salads and appetizers, giving local diners a variety of options beyond the usual neighborhood pizza menu.

According to the restaurant's official website, the business focused on traditional Italian flavors, quality ingredients and food prepared with care.

For a small, independently operated restaurant, those details represented considerable time and effort. Behind every meal were the responsibilities of running a business, maintaining a kitchen, serving customers and trying to establish a lasting place in a competitive local restaurant market.

Owners Share Heartfelt Goodbye With Spring Community

In the October 7 announcement on the restaurant's Facebook page, Inna and her team shared the personal side of their decision to close.

"It is with a very heavy heart that we have to share some difficult news: we will be closing the doors of our little jewel, Slice of Venice."

The message reflected the relationships the team had developed with customers during the restaurant's time in Spring.

"From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank every one of you for your support, kindness, encouragement, and love. You have made this little restaurant so much more than a business—you became part of our family and our journey."

The owners also acknowledged the challenges of keeping the restaurant operating.

"Unfortunately, after almost two years of giving everything we have to make Slice of Venice work, we are no longer able to keep our doors open."

Earlier this year, the restaurant had publicly discussed difficulties attracting enough customers to sustain operations. In February, the business adjusted its operating hours amid declining customer traffic, according to reporting by the Houston Chronicle.

While the owners' farewell announcement did not provide a detailed financial explanation, it made clear that the decision followed an extended effort to keep the restaurant going.

Why the Closure Matters for Spring's Small Business Community

The closing of Slice of Venice is another reminder of the challenges independent restaurants can face, even when they have developed a loyal following.

For residents in Spring and the surrounding Klein area, neighborhood restaurants offer more than convenient places to eat. They create opportunities to support local entrepreneurs, discover new foods and build familiar connections close to home.

Unlike larger restaurant chains, small family-owned businesses often depend heavily on repeat customers, neighborhood recommendations and word-of-mouth support. Consistent customer traffic can make a significant difference in their ability to remain open.

Slice of Venice's experience illustrates how difficult it can be for a new restaurant to establish itself, particularly when operating costs and customer demand do not align.

For customers who came to know the restaurant and its team, the announcement is also a personal goodbye to a business that had become part of their local dining routine.

How to Visit Slice of Venice Before Its October 18 Closing

With its final day approaching, Slice of Venice is encouraging customers to stop in for one last meal and an opportunity to say goodbye.

"We hope you will come see us one more time, enjoy your favorite Italian dish, and allow us to say goodbye in person."

Slice of Venice Pizzeria is located at 5275 Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379. Their last day of operation is Sunday, October 18, 2026 The restaurant is open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; closed Tuesday.

Hours are published on the restaurant's website and may change during its final days. Customers are encouraged to confirm availability before visiting.

For anyone who has been meaning to try Slice of Venice, the coming days offer a final opportunity. Returning customers can also support the business through a last visit, a takeout order or by sharing the closing announcement with friends and neighbors.

A Final Thank You to the Customers Who Made It Possible

Although Slice of Venice's time in Spring will be relatively short, the owners' farewell makes clear how much the experience and the people they met along the way have meant to them.

Inna and her team closed their announcement with gratitude for the community that supported their small business.

"Thank you for believing in us, supporting our small family business, and making Slice of Venice a special part of our lives."

For Spring residents, October 18 will mark the end of another locally owned dining option along Louetta Road. For the family and team behind Slice of Venice, it will mark the conclusion of a chapter built around food, hard work and the relationships formed with customers.

Residents who would like to say goodbye still have time to stop by, share a meal and offer their well wishes before the doors close.
