Renowned Christmas Cantata Performance Coming to Fort Bend County's New EpiCenter in October

August 28 2023

Christmas may be a few months away, but a reminder of the joy found in the true meaning of Christmas is just around the corner.

In September, Christmas Cantata, a show-stopping musical event that weaves multiple music styles into the unique and compelling portrayal of the meaning of Christmas will hit the road once again. Gracing stages across the country, including right here in Fort Bend County, this production will share an eternal message of hope with three music-filled stages. On October 5, Christmas Cantata will make a highly anticipated stop in the Greater Houston Area, where the community is invited to attend this free event at the new EpiCenter, a 230,000 square-foot facility in Rosenberg that boasts over 8,600 fixed seats with a capacity of over 10,000.

Christmas Cantata will be performed by Gracias Choir, a world-renowned, award-winning choir that has advanced the choral music landscape for the past 20 years. Gracias Choir performs music ranging from the classics to many popular contemporary works, which include extended genres of music such as musicals and semi-classics. Every year, the Gracias Choir holds numerous concerts including the Svobodno Classic Concert with world-class musicians, recitals, Christmas Cantata Tour, invitation performances at the Youth World Culture Camp, and free outdoor concerts for the community.

The Christmas Cantata show is divided into four parts: Act I - The Opera "For Unto Us", Act II - The Musical "The Gift of the Magi", the Cantata Message, and Act III - Choir & Orchestra "Christmas Carol." Doors open at 6:00 PM and the performance begins at 7:00 PM, lasting approximately two and a half hours. While admission is free of charge, there is a parking fee of $15 per vehicle. Note that the event is open to ages five and up.

Over the last several years, the Christmas Cantata tour has come through the Greater Houston Area to perform at NRG Arena, Toyota Center and Smart Financial Center. Tickets for this year's production at the new EpiCenter in Rosenberg can be reserved on the event's ticketing website here.
