Pickleball Social Now Open in Cypress: A New Community Hotspot for All Ages

July 17 2025

The wait is over. Pickleball Social Cypress, the much-anticipated indoor-outdoor pickleball venue, officially opened its doors on July 12 at 15819 Tuckerton Road, Houston, TX 77095 near the Aberdeen Business Park. Just minutes from Cy-Falls High School, the new facility is already drawing local families, competitive players, and social seekers alike.

This new location marks the second for Pickleball Social in the Houston metro area, following the successful debut of its flagship near Memorial City in 2023. The brand, which combines the fast-growing sport of pickleball with food, drinks, and leisure, is now bringing its signature energy to Cypress and beyond.

Grand Opening Brings the Game to Life in Northwest Houston

Pickleball Social Cypress officially welcomed the public on Saturday, July 12, after months of anticipation and construction delays that pushed its original timeline. Now fully operational, the venue is open Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The facility offers a total of 13 courts—seven indoor and six outdoor—providing ample space for open play, tournaments, lessons, and casual games, rain or shine. The venue is designed with families and social interaction in mind, featuring designated areas for kids, adults, and even dogs. A full-service bar, food truck, and large deck area enhance the experience, creating a lively and inclusive hangout spot for all ages.

“We all met in San Antonio 30 years ago and now the three of us live in Houston. Pickleball was introduced to us and it was a perfect match,” said Bruno Ortega, Grand Pickleball Director and one of the co-founders. “We are family men and our families enjoy Pickleball Social.”

A Local Destination for Recreation, Connection, and Celebration

The Cypress venue isn’t just about the game—it’s about creating community. Court rentals are $50 per hour for indoor courts and $40 per hour for outdoor courts, with a discounted rate of $25 per hour available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Equipment rentals are budget-friendly, with paddles available for $6 per day and balls for $5 each. Demo paddles can also be rented for $12 per day, and if you decide to purchase a paddle, the demo fee will be applied toward the purchase. With lessons ranging from beginner clinics to private coaching, players of all skill levels can find their footing.

“There’s one turf area near the bar, one kids area outside, one adult area outside, and a large deck space by the outside bar,” Ortega explained in a pre-opening update, emphasizing the family-forward design and versatility of the facility.

In addition to casual play, Pickleball Social hosts events, offers catering for private parties, and provides a welcoming environment for newcomers. Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed, but with an on-site food truck, full bar, and attentive service, guests rarely feel the need to bring their own.

Pickleball’s Popularity Surges Across Greater Houston

The opening of Pickleball Social in Cypress comes at a time when the sport is experiencing explosive growth nationwide and particularly in Greater Houston. Blending elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, pickleball is easy to learn and increasingly popular across generations.

Cypress residents have embraced the trend, with existing venues like Richard & Meg Weekley Community Center already hosting community games. Pickleball Social now adds a high-quality, all-in-one option for residents of Cypress, Bridgeland, Towne Lake, Stone Gate, Copperfield, and beyond.

The opening also reflects the founders' larger vision. “Two of the three founders are Mexican, and one is from El Salvador,” Ortega shared. “The brand’s identity is rooted in friendship, hospitality, and bringing people together through sport.”

What’s Next for Pickleball Social?

With a third location underway at The RIM in San Antonio, Pickleball Social is signaling long-term growth. But for Cypress residents, the excitement is local and immediate. Whether you’re a seasoned player, a weekend warrior, or a parent looking for a fun family outing, Pickleball Social Cypress has quickly become a go-to destination.
