ParkerJoe Makes The Woodlands Mall Home Permanent, Bringing Boys-Only Boutique to Local Families

North Houston
September 14 2026

Families shopping for boys at The Woodlands Mall now have a new permanent option — one built specifically with boys in mind.

ParkerJoe, a family-owned boys’ boutique that began in the Houston area, is officially open at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive, Suite 1135, in The Woodlands. The location initially arrived as a pop-up, but ParkerJoe now lists the store as permanent, adding The Woodlands to a growing footprint that also includes Houston’s Rice Village, Sugar Land and Las Vegas.

For parents accustomed to searching several stores for everything from everyday clothes to a suit for a wedding, ParkerJoe takes a different approach. The retailer focuses entirely on boys, carrying sizes from newborn through 18 and offering apparel for occasions ranging from playdates and school days to rodeo season, family photos and black-tie events. Its current assortment includes casual clothing, dresswear, Western styles, swim and resort wear, sports and performance clothing, jackets, accessories, toys and books.

A Boutique That Started With One Mom’s Search for Boys’ Clothes

The story behind ParkerJoe is closely tied to the problem the business is trying to solve.

Founder Chelsea Hostler has said the idea grew from her own experience shopping for her son, Parker. She found plenty of choices for girls but struggled to find boys’ clothing that felt stylish, distinctive and well made. That frustration eventually became the foundation for a store designed to make boys, rather than a small boys’ section tucked inside a larger children’s retailer, the focus.

Chelsea founded the business alongside her mother, Lisa Hostler. Even the ParkerJoe name reflects the family behind it: “Parker” comes from Chelsea’s son, while “Joe” honors Chelsea’s late father and Lisa’s husband. The company describes itself as a multigenerational family business built around clothing that can carry boys from everyday childhood moments through more formal milestones.

Before ParkerJoe had traditional storefronts, the Hostlers spent about two years operating the business as a boutique vendor at Painted Tree specialty shops. They opened a temporary River Oaks Shopping Center store in April 2024 before moving toward a larger permanent presence in Houston.

That next chapter came in 2025, when ParkerJoe opened its flagship in Rice Village. The approximately 1,900-square-foot shop expanded the brand’s selection of boys’ clothing, shoes, accessories, gifts and lifestyle products. The company continued growing in 2026 with a Sugar Land location at First Colony Mall and now lists The Woodlands as another permanent Texas store.

More Than Shirts and Shorts

Part of what separates ParkerJoe from a traditional children’s clothing department is the breadth of merchandise assembled specifically for boys.

Families can find everyday basics and denim alongside sweaters, performance wear, Western clothing, suits and other formal pieces. The boutique also carries shoes, accessories, children’s books, toys, gifts, blankets and other items selected with boys in mind. Its online catalog currently spans thousands of products from a range of children’s brands and styles.

That range also lets the retailer lean into the way Houston-area families actually shop. During rodeo season, for example, ParkerJoe highlights pearl-snap shirts, Western-inspired clothing and polished Texas looks alongside the more traditional dresswear, casual pieces and seasonal collections offered throughout the year.

From Pop-Up to Permanent at The Woodlands Mall

For The Woodlands families, the biggest news may simply be that ParkerJoe is staying.

Pop-up shops often serve as short-term tests for retailers exploring a market. ParkerJoe’s decision to convert its presence at The Woodlands Mall into a permanent location gives families in The Woodlands, Spring and surrounding north Houston communities another specialized children’s retailer without requiring a trip into central Houston.

It also marks another step in the growth of a business that started with a mother and grandmother trying to solve a familiar parenting problem: finding more options for boys.

ParkerJoe at The Woodlands Mall is located at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive, Suite 1135, The Woodlands, TX 77380. Shoppers can also find ParkerJoe at its Rice Village flagship in Houston, at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land and in Las Vegas.
