June 01 2026

Families across Spring, Klein, Cypress and northwest Houston will have an opportunity to connect with nature, meet animals from around the world and learn more about local wildlife when Harris County Precinct 3 hosts a special outdoor community event at Collins Park later this month.

Set for Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to noon, the free event will transform the popular Spring-area park into a hands-on learning experience featuring interactive exhibits, an exotic petting zoo, live animal ambassadors, educational booths and opportunities to meet adoptable pets from Harris County Pets.

For local families looking for affordable summer activities near Spring, this event offers a chance to combine outdoor recreation, environmental education and animal encounters in one place.

A Morning Focused on Nature, Wildlife and Community

Visitors can expect a variety of engaging experiences designed for children and adults alike.

Among the featured attractions are animal ambassadors that allow guests to get an up-close look at wildlife while learning about conservation and animal habitats. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak directly with Harris County naturalists, who will be available to answer questions about local ecosystems, native plants and wildlife commonly found throughout the region.

Educational organizations and community partners will also be on-site with interactive exhibits designed to encourage environmental awareness and outdoor exploration.

For animal lovers, representatives from Harris County Pets will be attending the event, offering residents an opportunity to learn about pet adoption and potentially meet a new four-legged family member.
