Northwest Assistance Ministries Spreads Holiday Cheer to Over 3,000 Local Children

December 15 2023

The spirit of community is thriving this holiday season at Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM), where the annual Holiday Food & Toy Distribution is a beacon of hope for those in need.

This year, on the 15th and 16th of December, NAM and their army of volunteers will continue a tradition that has brought joy to countless families over the years. NAM aims to ensure that no child aged 12 and under goes without a gift during the holiday season. They pull off this remarkable feat with the generous contributions of new, unopened toys from community members and organizations alike.

A massive undertaking, the Holiday Food and Toy Distribution leverages compassionate volunteers who devote their time and energy towards distributing food and toys to around 1,200 families and 3,200 children from the northwest community. From individuals to school districts, this initiative has drawn many to its cause as they spread holiday cheer to families in need. One of those groups, Spring ISD, even hosts their own toy drive, collecting over 2,000 toys for NAM this holiday season.

NAM's mission goes far beyond the holidays; it's a year-round lifeline for those struggling to meet their basic human needs. As a nonprofit organization, NAM focuses on providing assistance in various essential areas like food, shelter, health, education, safety, and financial education. The organization covers over 660 square miles of northwest Harris County, serving more than 1,500,000 residents.

The value of every contribution to NAM is amplified during a once-a-year opportunity. Donations made to NAM before December 31st are matched dollar for dollar up to $190,000. The goal is to secure $350,000 by the end of 2023, turning every act of giving into an even more significant impact. Your contribution can help NAM continue its indispensable work. This holiday season, let's spread love, compassion, and the joy of giving with NAM's Holiday Food and Toy Distribution.
