World-Traveling Magician Craig Diamond Brings Four Decades of Magic to Conroe, The Woodlands and Lake Conroe
For three nights in October, Greater Houston residents will not have to head to Las Vegas or board a cruise ship to see the kind of magic Craig Diamond has spent more than four decades performing around the world.
The internationally traveled magician and comedian will bring his mix of sleight-of-hand, comedy, mentalism and audience participation to Conroe, the Oak Ridge North and The Woodlands area, and Lake Conroe from October 6 through 8. Presented by MagicNight Productions, the shows are designed as intimate evenings where guests are close to the action and, in some cases, may become part of it themselves.
A Career That Has Spanned the Globe
Diamond's career has taken him to casino resorts, theaters, luxury cruise ships, corporate events and private performances across more than 135 countries. His professional biography says he has performed on all seven continents and entertained millions of people during a career stretching more than 40 years.
His honors include being named Master Magician of the Year in 1986 and receiving the Milbourne Christopher Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. The Milbourne Christopher Foundation presents annual awards recognizing achievement across multiple areas of the magic profession, including lifetime achievement.
"Craig has spent more than 40 years performing for audiences around the world, but what makes his shows special is the way he connects with the people in the room," said Carol Ann Kitchell, spokesperson for MagicNight Productions. "You're not just watching magic from a distance. The audience becomes part of the experience, and there's a lot of comedy along the way."
Three Different Greater Houston Magic Shows
The first performance is Tuesday, October 6 at GuadalaHARRY's Bar & Grill in downtown Conroe, where the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35, with VIP seating available, and dinner can be purchased before the performance. The venue describes the show as clean and family-friendly in content, although this particular performance is limited to guests 18 and older.
On Wednesday, October 7, Diamond heads to Pallotta's Italian Grill in Oak Ridge North near The Woodlands. The $60 dinner-and-show package includes a $20 dining credit, with dinner seating beginning before the 7:30 p.m. performance. The magic show takes place in an intimate banquet-room setting with seating limited to about 50 guests.
The three-night run concludes Thursday, October 8 at Walden's Lakeview Dining on Lake Conroe, where the $65 package includes dinner followed by the magic show in the banquet room. Organizers recommend arriving between 6 and 6:30 p.m., with the performance scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Bringing Touring Entertainment Closer to Home
MagicNight Productions specializes in bringing nationally touring magicians and mentalists to Greater Houston restaurants, clubs, resorts and theaters. Its performers have backgrounds ranging from cruise ships and casino showrooms to television programs including America's Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us! and Masters of Illusion.
"These shows give people the chance to see performers who have worked major theaters, casinos and television stages without having to travel to Las Vegas or a major theater," Kitchell said.
For families, couples and groups looking for things to do in Conroe, The Woodlands or Lake Conroe, Diamond's October appearances offer something a little different from the usual dinner out. Instead of watching from the back of a large theater, guests will be only a few tables away from a performer whose career has taken him around the world.
