Nicholas Cavallo Announced Head Football Coach at Morton Ranch High School
Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) proudly announces the appointment of Nicholas Cavallo as the new Head Football Coach at Morton Ranch High School. With an extensive background in coaching and a commitment to fostering the development of student-athletes, Coach Cavallo brings a wealth of experience and a strong coaching philosophy to the Mavericks. Coach Cavallo will officially assume his role on January 12, 2024.
Coach Cavallo's coaching philosophy centers around making a positive impact on student-athletes both on and off the field. Dedicated to teaching valuable lessons in class, character, responsibility and accountability, he aims to equip student-athletes with the necessary skills to become passionate leaders, with the ultimate objective of ensuring that all student-athletes graduate with the tools needed for lifelong success.
Education has been a cornerstone of Coach Cavallo's career. He holds a Texas Standard Educator Certification from A+ Texas Teachers with a specialization in Special Education EC-12. Additionally, he earned a bachelor’s degree in law & society from Purdue University and is pursuing a master’s degree in educational administration.
With a wealth of coaching experience, Coach Cavallo most recently served as the Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Coordinator at George Ranch High School in Richmond. In this role, he guided his teams to the playoffs in five of his six seasons and oversaw athletic programs at Reading Junior High and George Ranch High School. Prior to that, Coach Cavallo was the Defensive Coordinator and Special Education Inclusion Teacher at B.F. Terry High School in Rosenberg.
Coach Cavallo's coaching journey includes stints as the Defensive Line and Recruiting Coordinator at Campbell University and as the Defensive Line Graduate Assistant at Purdue University. He also served as an Offensive Player Development Specialist at Rutgers University.
As the new Head Football Coach at Morton Ranch High School, Coach Cavallo is poised to bring his wealth of experience, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete development to the Mavericks' football program.
“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and talented team of educators and staff at Morton Ranch High School,” said Coach Cavallo. “The Mavericks’ reputation precedes itself, and I feel privileged to join this remarkable community. I am excited to hit the ground running and get to work. I am looking forward to building a championship program that both our students and the entire school community can be proud of,” he added.
