New Water Slides and Inclusive Hotel Set to Elevate Morgan’s Wonderland Experience in San Antonio
Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first ultra-accessible theme park, is making waves once again—this time, quite literally. The beloved San Antonio attraction will soon welcome the addition of two new water slides, bringing even more inclusive fun to families from around the globe. Construction on the new 20,000-square-foot water attraction begins in early February 2026, and is slated for completion by early April 2026.
This $2 million expansion to Morgan’s Inspiration Island, the park’s award-winning water park, will feature two standalone water slides along with their own loading towers, further cementing the park’s commitment to providing joy-filled, barrier-free experiences for all. These additions join the park’s five existing tropical splash pads and promise to offer new ways to stay cool while having fun—regardless of ability.
Morgan’s Wonderland will reopen its gates for the 2026 season on Sunday, February 28, and families can look forward to this season being the most exciting yet.
A Theme Park Built on Inclusion
Known for its motto “Where Everyone Can Play!”, Morgan’s Wonderland spans 25 colorful acres and offers more than 25 rides and attractions, each carefully designed with inclusion in mind. From wheelchair-accessible ziplines like Rocket’s Sky Flight Adventure to the whimsical Wonderland Express train, the park makes accessibility central—not an afterthought.
Guests of all abilities can enjoy interactive play in Sensory Village™, take in a show at Starlight Amphitheater, cool off in the Sand Circle™, or explore the Butterfly Playground. In 2025, the park added Joy’s Happy Swing, a multi-rider, wheelchair-accessible swing, further enhancing the park’s dynamic offerings.

Morgan’s Hotel: A New Era of Hospitality
Just a short walk from the theme park, the highly anticipated Morgan’s Hotel™ is rising as a game-changer in the hospitality industry. With an expected opening date of March 31, 2026, this 93-room boutique hotel will introduce what it calls an Ultra-Accommodating™ experience—a revolutionary standard that prioritizes accessibility, comfort, and dignity for every guest.
Located at 4502 David Edwards Drive, the 70,340-square-foot hotel is being built with every detail in mind: voice-activated rooms, AI-powered concierge services, oversized hallways and guest rooms, private entrances, and amenities designed for individuals with disabilities and the aging population.
“At Morgan’s Hotel™, we believe hospitality should be for everyone—without exception,” said Gordon Hartman, founder of Morgan’s Wonderland and the visionary behind this mission-driven hospitality initiative. “This groundbreaking isn’t just the start of construction—it’s the start of a movement that redefines what it means to be truly welcoming in the hotel industry.”
Notably, 100% of net proceeds from Morgan’s Hotel™ will benefit nonprofit Morgan’s, ensuring that every stay directly supports inclusive programming and facilities.
A Model for the Future
Hartman’s commitment to inclusion began with a deeply personal moment in 2006, when he saw his daughter Morgan—who has special needs—excluded from play while on vacation. That experience inspired the creation of Morgan’s Wonderland, and now, with the hotel and new water slides, the mission is expanding in bold new ways.
From the Whirling Wonder™ Ferris wheel to Morgan’s Sports complex and Morgan’s Camp, every part of this San Antonio landmark was built with the belief that inclusion is not just a feature—it’s the foundation.
