New Lakes on Eldridge Mahjong Club Invites Neighbors to Connect and Play This Fall
A new neighborly tradition is coming to Lakes on Eldridge this fall: the LOE Mahjong Club will officially launch in October, bringing together residents for evenings of strategy, laughter, and connection. Open to all community members—whether you're a seasoned player or brand-new to the game—the club will meet in the FlexRoom from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM on the following dates:
- October 14 and 21, 2025
- November 11 and 19, 2025
- December 9 and 17, 2025
- January 13 and 20, 2026
Mahjong, a game rooted in Chinese tradition, is played with a set of 144 tiles and blends strategy, memory, and a bit of luck. Typically played by four players, the objective is to be the first to form a complete set of tiles, known as a “Mahjong,” through drawing and discarding tiles. While the game may seem complex at first, many find it both relaxing and addictive once they get the hang of it. It's often compared to rummy—but with tiles instead of cards.
