MilkShake Factory Now Open in Elyson, Grand Opening Celebration with Free Shakes and Chocolate Samples Set for March 7 in Cypress

February 20 2026

Elyson residents and families across Cypress and North Katy now have another sweet reason to gather close to home. MilkShake Factory, the heritage-rich dessert brand known for handspun milkshakes made with housemade ice cream and small-batch chocolates, is now officially open at 7040 Elyson Exchange Way, Suite E-100 in Cypress after soft opening on February 7, 2026. The new shop will celebrate with a full-scale grand opening on March 7, 2026.

While the shop quietly soft opened on February 7, the upcoming celebration marks its formal welcome into the Elyson Town Center community — and it comes with free shakes, chocolate sampling, music, and giveaways designed to turn a simple dessert stop into a neighborhood moment.

For residents in Elyson and surrounding Cypress communities, this isn’t just another retail opening. It’s another sign of Elyson Town Center’s continued growth and the kind of family-friendly gathering places many homeowners say they value when choosing where to live.

What the Grand Opening Means for Elyson Residents

As Elyson continues expanding in Northwest Harris County, new retail additions like MilkShake Factory help shape the daily rhythm of the neighborhood — places where after-school treats, weekend outings, and casual celebrations happen without leaving Cypress.

The grand opening event on March 7 will include:

  • A celebratory ribbon cutting at 11:45 a.m.
  • Chocolate sampling
  • A “First Guest in Line” basket
  • DJ entertainment
  • An exclusive MilkShake Factory T-shirt giveaway for the first 100 guests
  • Buy One Get One FREE shakes from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (valid only at the Elyson location on March 7)

A Dessert Brand Rooted in More Than 100 Years of Tradition

As previously reported by My Neighborhood News when the location was first announced in June 2025, MilkShake Factory’s story stretches back to 1914, when Greek immigrants Charlie and Orania opened a soda fountain and chocolate shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

At a time when milkshakes were considered rare treats and refrigeration was a luxury, their shop became a community staple. Four generations later, the family legacy continues.

The brand formally evolved into MilkShake Factory in 2003, building on decades of chocolate-making experience that began with handmade truffles and expanded into a chocolate factory in the 1970s. Today, the company operates more than two dozen locations across the United States, bringing its nostalgic-meets-gourmet approach to growing communities like Cypress.

The locally owned Elyson shop occupies a 1,603-square-foot space and represents a $250,000 interior renovation investment within Elyson Town Center. No exterior modifications were required, but the interior was transformed into what the brand describes as a warm, inviting dessert destination reminiscent of a classic soda fountain.

What’s on the Menu at MilkShake Factory Elyson

MilkShake Factory is widely known for extravagant, handspun milkshakes crafted with housemade ice cream and premium chocolates. Signature shakes include indulgent combinations like Campfire S’mores and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry, alongside classic vanilla and chocolate options.

The shop also serves handcrafted sundaes, root beer floats, and small-batch chocolates — a nod to its century-old chocolate-making roots.

For those seeking dairy-free options in Cypress, the menu includes non-dairy flavors such as peanut butter, cookies & cream, and strawberry, making it a destination for a wider range of dessert preferences.

Beyond flavor, the company highlights ethical cocoa sourcing through programs such as Cocoa Horizons and Women’s Agro Forestry, aligning its growth with responsible sourcing practices.

Elyson Town Center Continues to Grow

The opening is part of ongoing retail development within Elyson, one of Cypress’s fastest-growing master-planned communities. As new homes fill in and families settle, walkable and nearby dining and dessert options become part of what shapes daily life.

For homeowners, realtors, and prospective buyers, additions like MilkShake Factory signal continued investment and consumer confidence in the area’s long-term growth. And for longtime residents, it simply means another nearby place to celebrate birthdays, sports wins, school milestones — or just a Friday afternoon treat.

What Happens Next

MilkShake Factory Elyson is now open daily following its February 7 soft opening, with its official grand opening celebration set for March 7.

Residents planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early, particularly those hoping to be among the first 100 guests to receive the exclusive T-shirt giveaway or claim the first-in-line basket.
