Mercer Botanic Gardens to Host Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

September 27 2023

The Chikawa Aztec Dancers and Drums proudly present a Hispanic cultural program at Mercer Botanic Gardens in Humble to showcase the living history, celebrations, and mindfulness surrounding Dia De Los Muertos.

Patrons will learn about and interact with a stunning handcrafted display including over 1,000 colorful Marigold and Cockscomb flowers grown by volunteers and staff of The Mercer Society/Friends of Mercer Botanic Gardens. The program will conclude with a live performance of the Chikawa Conroe Aztec dancers and drummers in traditional regalia.

All ages are welcome and attendees are encouraged to wear attire of cultural significance commemorating Dia De Los Muertos. Follow the event signs and meet in Mercer’s Grand Lawn (weather permitting). Online registration is encouraged and is limited in the case that the program is moved indoors due to weather. Please stay tuned on Mercer Botanic Garden's Facebook page for updates closer to November 1. When the registration window opens, register at pct3.com/MBG.
