LSC-CyFair Library Hosts Full Week of Programs for All Ages

September 08 2025

The Lone Star College-CyFair Library has long been more than a place to borrow books. Since opening in 2003 as part of a joint-use partnership between Lone Star College and Harris County Public Library, it has grown into one of Cypress’s most beloved community centers. With events for toddlers, teens, families, and adults, the library remains a hub where learning, creativity, and connection come together.

This week, the library’s calendar offers an engaging lineup of programs designed to meet the needs of all ages. Highlights include Ballet Body Conditioning Basics on Tuesday morning (8:30–9:30 a.m.), a gentle fitness class for ages 14 and up that focuses on posture, strength, and flexibility.

Families with young children can take part in several storytime sessions throughout the week. Monday features Toddler Story Time in three morning sessions, plus evening favorites like Baby Boogie and PJs and Play. On Tuesday, the schedule continues with Baby Time offered at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.

By midweek, the library shifts toward creative and social programming. Wednesday includes Crafts and Coffee (10 a.m.–12 p.m.), bilingual Spanish storytimes, and a series of clubs for kids and teens such as the Teen Book Club, Kids Craft Club, and Teen Advisory Group. Adult readers can join the Out of this World: Sci-Fi Book Club on Wednesday afternoon, diving into Becky Chambers’ The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.

Thursday brings three sessions of Preschool Story Time, followed later by activities for teens and families, including Teen Game Zone, Family Fun Night, and book clubs for both young adult and adult readers.

On Saturday, gardening enthusiasts are invited to Gardening 101: Fall Planting at 11 a.m., while families can enjoy Family Story Time at 10:30 a.m. or Tales to Tails, where children read aloud to therapy dogs, at 2 p.m.

All children’s programs require free tickets, available at the Kids Corner 30 minutes before start time. Teen clubs and advisory groups require advance registration.

With its wide range of services, from ESL talk groups to book clubs and fitness classes, LSC-CyFair Library continues to embody its mission of serving every corner of the community. For more information on these upcoming events, residents can visit cflibguides.lonestar.edu/events/calendar, call 281-290-3210 or visit the library on the Lone Star College–CyFair campus at 9191 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77433.
