With school buses once again traveling community streets and emergency vehicles needing dependable access at all times, the Property Owners Association of Legends Ranch is asking homeowners to inspect trees bordering streets and sidewalks and trim any branches hanging too low.

The reminder is about more than keeping yards tidy. Low-hanging limbs can interfere with school buses, fire trucks, ambulances and other large vehicles that need enough vertical and roadway clearance to safely move through Legends Ranch.

Why Tree Clearance Matters in Legends Ranch

As trees mature, branches can gradually extend farther over streets and sidewalks than homeowners may realize. That can create visibility and clearance concerns for drivers while also narrowing the space available for taller vehicles.

For a school bus making its regular route through Legends Ranch, or for firefighters and paramedics responding to an emergency, even a small obstruction can become an avoidable complication.

The community is also subject to fire and emergency-access requirements. According to the POA notice, failure to maintain adequate clearance can result in citations or fines being assessed to the Association.

Those costs can ultimately affect the broader community.

With homeowners already paying close attention to rising neighborhood expenses, the Association is emphasizing that proper tree pruning represents one expense residents can help prevent before it occurs.

Legends Ranch Property Inspections Will Focus More Closely on Tree Pruning

Residents should also expect tree maintenance to receive additional attention during upcoming property inspections.

The Legends Ranch property inspector will be looking more closely at landscaping and tree pruning, and additional POA violations may be issued where branches need to be trimmed.

The community’s governing documents require homeowners to maintain their landscaping, including appropriate pruning.

Homeowners are encouraged to walk the frontage of their property and look at branches extending over both the roadway and sidewalks. Limbs that appear harmless from inside a yard may hang considerably lower when viewed from the path of a bus, delivery truck or emergency vehicle.

A Small Maintenance Job With a Communitywide Impact

Routine tree trimming is one of those neighborhood responsibilities that can be easy to overlook until a problem develops.

For Legends Ranch families, however, keeping trees properly maintained contributes to several priorities at once: safer sidewalks, clearer neighborhood streets, reliable emergency access and fewer avoidable POA expenses.
