With backpacks packed and the school-year routine beginning to settle in, Legends Ranch families have a chance to trade homework and hectic schedules for an afternoon together at the neighborhood’s Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 29.

The community celebration runs from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Legends Ranch Splashpad, giving children, parents and neighbors an easy way to reconnect after the first days of school while enjoying activities close to home.

For families looking for things to do in Legends Ranch this weekend, the Back to School Bash is shaping up to be a full afternoon of entertainment, food and time with neighbors.

What Families Can Expect at the Legends Ranch Back to School Bash

The event will include a professional photo station, face painting, balloon twisters, inflatables, vendors and pool and splashpad fun.

That mix gives younger children plenty to explore while parents have an opportunity to visit with neighbors and meet other families in the community. It also offers a welcome break for students still adjusting to earlier mornings, new classrooms and the rhythm of another school year.

Food trucks will also be part of the afternoon.

Kreole Soul Food Truck is expected to serve a menu featuring fish and shrimp baskets, boudin balls, chicken fritters, red beans and rice, signature bowls, lemonade and other selections.

French Corner will bring another range of choices, including salads, chicken wraps, burgers and fries, sandwiches, savory crepes and sweet crepes such as Nutella, banana caramel and jam.

With two very different menus available, families can make dinner part of the outing rather than heading home when everyone gets hungry.

A Neighborhood Celebration After the First Days of School

Back-to-school season can bring plenty of change for households — new teachers, new schedules, after-school activities and the familiar challenge of getting everyone out the door on time.

The Legends Ranch Back to School Bash offers a more relaxed way to mark the transition.
