Langham Creek High School Brings ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ to the Stage This October
For a few nights this October, the halls of Langham Creek High School will make room for a little Hogwarts magic.
The Langham Creek High School Theatre Ensemble will present Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: High School Edition Oct. 1 through Oct. 4, giving local students the chance to take on a production adapted from the award-winning stage continuation of the Harry Potter story. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 1, 2 and 3, with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 4.
A Harry Potter Story Reimagined for High School Theatre
Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, with a play by Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child follows the Wizarding World into a new generation. The story centers in part on Harry Potter’s son, Albus, as familiar characters and their children confront the weight of family history, friendship and choices that reach across time.
The version coming to Langham Creek is not simply the professional production scaled down. Broadway Licensing Global worked with members of the original creative team to create a shorter version specifically for high schools and secondary schools, including new approaches intended to make the show’s elaborate theatrical magic achievable on school stages with different budgets and technical resources. Worldwide school licensing opened in 2024.
That makes productions like Langham Creek’s an opportunity for student actors, technicians and designers alike. The school edition was designed to let young performers step into roles such as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Albus and Scorpius while student crews tackle the lighting, scenery, sound and illusion work needed to bring the Wizarding World to life.
Tickets Available Now for Langham Creek Performances
Advance ticket prices are $20 for preferred seating, $15 for general seating and $5 for students and seniors age 65 and older. Ticket prices will increase at the door.

For Langham Creek students, the production is also a chance to take on a show with a worldwide following while making it distinctly their own. For families across Cypress and the surrounding community, it offers an affordable local night at the theatre, and perhaps a chance to see just how much stage magic a group of high school students can create.
