Lamar CISD Offers New 988 Crisis Lifeline Resource
For the past several years, the HOPE line phone number has been available to Lamar CISD students as a 24/7 resource. Due to an increase in call volume, the HOPE line phone number will now be supported by the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which is available to all individuals.
Effective immediately, all Lamar CISD staff and students may contact the 988 Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. For added convenience, the Lamar CISD HOPE line will automatically reroute inquiries to this national service.
The Lifeline offers 24/7 free access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing mental health-related distress. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of more than 200 local crisis centers, combining local resources with national standards and best practices.
