Lakes on Eldridge Dolphins Swim Team Registration Opens for 2026 Season: Practice Schedule, Meet Dates, and Pool Closures

April 15 2026

As summer approaches in Lakes on Eldridge, one of the neighborhood’s most anticipated traditions is making its return—the LOE Dolphins Swim Team. Registration for the 2026 season is now underway, inviting returning swimmers, siblings, and new participants to dive into a season centered on skill-building, teamwork, and community connection.

Open to young swimmers across a range of ages and experience levels, the Dolphins program continues a long-standing neighborhood tradition that began in 2000. Operated by parent volunteers and supported by experienced coaches, the team focuses on water safety, stroke development, and competitive swimming in a structured but welcoming environment. For many families in Lakes on Eldridge, the swim team is not just a summer activity—it’s a shared experience that builds friendships and confidence both in and out of the pool.

The 2026 season officially begins Monday, April 20, with practices scheduled throughout the week at both Lakes on Eldridge and Lakes on Eldridge North. Practices will take place on Mondays at the main LOE pool, with additional sessions held Wednesday through Friday at the LOEN main pool. Swimmers are grouped by age and ability, with evening practice times ranging from 4:25 p.m. through 8:15 p.m., allowing families to plan around summer schedules.

Residents interested in registering or learning more about the team can visit the official website at loedolphins.swimtopia.com, where additional details about coaching, practice structure, and team expectations are available.

Practice Schedule and What Families Should Expect

The LOE Dolphins aim to create an environment where every swimmer—whether just starting out or preparing for competition—can grow at their own pace. Group practices are designed to meet individual goals while encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship, with optional guidance available for families seeking more individualized instruction.

Practices will run from April 20 through June 12, with no scheduled practices on Tuesdays. In the event of inclement weather, safety remains the priority. Swimmers will exit the pool at the sound of thunder or sight of lightning, with delays or cancellations implemented as needed based on conditions.

This structured yet flexible approach helps ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants throughout the season.

What Residents Need to Know: Pool Closures and Community Impact

With the return of swim season also comes temporary changes to pool availability for Lakes on Eldridge residents.

Monday practices will take place at the LOE pool, which is typically closed for routine cleaning on that day—helping reduce the impact on regular swim hours during the rest of the week.

In addition, the Dolphins will host four home swim meets on the following Saturdays:

  • May 2
  • May 16
  • May 30
  • June 6

On these dates, the community pool area will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to accommodate the events.

While these temporary closures may require some planning, they also represent a key part of neighborhood life. Swim meets often bring together families, volunteers, and spectators, creating a lively environment that reflects the strong sense of community in Lakes on Eldridge.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead on meet days and, if possible, stop by to support the young athletes representing the neighborhood.

A Summer Tradition Rooted in Community

As part of the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL), one of the largest youth swim leagues in the Houston area, the LOE Dolphins compete in organized meets throughout the season, culminating in a divisional championship. For swimmers, it’s an opportunity to challenge themselves and grow. For the community, it’s a reminder of what makes Lakes on Eldridge unique—shared experiences, active families, and a strong neighborhood identity.

Families are encouraged to register early, as participation typically fills quickly. Whether joining for the first time or returning for another season, the LOE Dolphins Swim Team continues to offer a meaningful and memorable summer experience right at home.
