Keeping Our Community Safe: How Fort Bend County Residents Can Register Their Home Security Cameras

February 20 2024

To foster a safer community, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office (FBCSO) has launched the CONNECT FORT BEND program. This public safety initiative allows residents to register their home security cameras, giving police, fire, and public safety professionals an edge in solving crime cases and responding rapidly to emergencies.

Registering your security cameras is easy! All it takes is less than one minute of your time via FBCSO's secure online portal. Once your camera is registered, investigators will know that a camera is present at your location. It should be noted that registration does not grant the Sheriff's Office access to your live video streams. Instead, it allows investigators to easily request video evidence from you should an incident occur near your location.

For those looking to enhance community security, the program also offers the option of integrating your cameras, giving the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office direct access to your camera feed in emergencies. To do this, you only need to purchase a small CORE device that plugs into your camera system. This additional step can be completed once you've registered your cameras.

Why not become a part of this innovative approach to community safety? Your participation isn't just about improving your home security - it's about joining hands with your neighbors to maintain the greater safety of Fort Bend County. By registering and integrating your home security cameras, you're helping to build a stronger, more resilient community that is equipped to face and overcome security challenges.

Join CONNECT FORT BEND today! For further information or to start your registration process, please visit 301 Jackson St. Richmond, TX 77469, call 281-559-6989 or visit fortbendconnect.org. Together, let's work to make Fort Bend County a safer place for all.
