Katy Area Pie Shop Gearing Up for 2nd Annual Katy Pie Run
Get ready to lace up your sneakers and bring your appetites, Katy. The much-awaited Katy Pie Run is returning on January 20 at The Fellowship in Katy, promising a fun-filled day of delicious pies and exciting races, all for a great cause. Organized by Proud Pie, a local, family-owned pie shop known for their delightfully different pie flavors, this special event serves a grand slice of community spirit.
Proud Pie has stepped out of the kitchen to organize an event that not only satisfies your sweet tooth, but also fuels a heartfelt cause. The Katy Pie Run is more than just a race; it's a sweet endeavor to support Camp Hope, part of the PTSD Foundation of America.
Camp Hope offers a holistic approach to healing for veterans grappling with PTSD nationwide. The six to nine-month interim housing program, operational since 2012, provides peer support, mentorship programs, professional development, and a range of therapeutic activities all free of cost to veterans and their families. A notable 44% of veterans have successfully graduated from this program through Camp Hope locations across the country, including Houston. The program is also equipped with on-site psychotherapy facilities and a dedicated team that helps families navigate life with a PTSD-afflicted loved one.

At the Katy Pie Run, every stride taken, every pie tasted, and every dollar raised helps support those affected by PTSD.
The race will be accompanied by an indulgent en-route pie tasting, where runners get to sample pie made fresh by Proud Pie along the run route. But that's not all - participants can also unwind after the run at a grand Brunch Buffet, where runners will enjoy and vote on a variety of dishes prepared by some of the best chefs in the Katy area for the Brunch Item Throwndown along with a decadent pie buffet.
Kicking off at 7:15 AM, the race offers a 10K run, 5K run, 3.14K run/walk, and a 3.14K family stroll. Sponsorship opportunities for this event are also available.
