Katy Area Mother-Daughter Duos on Mission to Serve Community

January 22 2024

Nurturing bonds between mothers and daughters, the National Charity League (NCL) Lady Bird Chapter stands as a testament to unwavering community service through its commitment to philanthropy, leadership, and culture. Formed in 2010 and chartered in April 2012, this Chapter has created a strong support network within the communities of Katy, Richmond, and Fulshear for over a decade, and they are welcoming additional mother-daughter duos to join their cause.

Over the years, the NCL Lady Bird Chapter has extended its helping hand to a myriad of nonprofits and organizations. Among them, Brookwood Community, The Ballard House, Clothed By Faith, Meals on Wheels, and Katy Christian Ministries have been some notable beneficiaries of the Chapter's efforts. From hosting clothing drives to baking cookies for The Ballard House, the NCL Lady Bird Chapter strives to serve in a multitude of ways, both large and small.

This chapter also hosts curated events aimed to bring members together for a cause while serving the community. A line-up of events is ready to engage the members in the coming months: a Mother-Daughter Tea in August, the Holiday Philanthropy Fair in December, and the Senior Recognition event in February, each offering unique participation opportunities.

In a move to expand its vibrant community, the Chapter is currently inviting 6th, 7th, and 9th-grade girls, who are expected to graduate in 2027, 2029, and 2030, respectively, to join the league of changemakers. Hurry, as the membership drive closes on March 1, 2024!

To aid interested individuals in making a decision, the Chapter has arranged three informational gatherings: Liana's Mexican Kitchen and Cantina on 1/23 from 5 PM to 7 PM, The Ballard House on 2/3 from 10 AM to 12 PM, and Humble Grounds Coffeehouse on 2/24 from 11 AM to 12 PM.

To become part of this empowering journey, fill out the membership inquiry form available on the NCL Lady Bird Chapter website. For any additional inquiries, drop a line at membershipladybird@nclonline.org. Be a part of the NCL Lady Bird Chapter and turn the tides of change in your community.
