Jonathan’s The Rub Officially Opens in Bridgeland, Bringing Bold Flavors and Family Tradition to Cypress

December 10 2025

After months of anticipation, Jonathan’s The Rub has officially opened its doors in Bridgeland, welcoming the Cypress community with its signature blend of bold flavors, family roots, and warm hospitality.

Located at 20215 Bridgeland Creek Pkwy, Ste 200, Cypress, TX 77433, in the heart of the new Village Green development, the restaurant opened for dinner service on December 10, marking a milestone for both the Levine family and the rapidly expanding Bridgeland community.

For those new to the name, Jonathan’s The Rub is a Houston-grown culinary staple founded by Jonathan Levine in 2008. The restaurant has earned a loyal following across its other locations—Memorial Green, Campbell Place, and East End—for its eclectic menu, welcoming atmosphere, and open-kitchen concept. Now, Bridgeland residents have a chance to enjoy the same experience without leaving Cypress.

The Bridgeland location, designed with relaxed elegance in mind, offers thoughtfully curated dining spaces and expansive patios perfect for casual family dinners, weekend brunches, or special celebrations. The restaurant’s elevated bar also makes a strong impression with handcrafted cocktails made from fresh-squeezed juices, a wide selection of premium spirits, and an impressive wine list featuring more than 200 labels.

“Our goal has always been to create a space where people can connect over great food,” Jonathan Levine shared in a previous interview about the expansion. “Bridgeland felt like the right next step—it's a community that’s growing fast, with families and professionals looking for a place that feels both elevated and welcoming.”

The timing couldn’t be better. With Bridgeland Central emerging as a major urban hub in northwest Houston, the area has seen significant residential and commercial development in recent years. The Village Green, where Jonathan’s The Rub now resides, is a 70-acre mixed-use district anchored by a new H-E-B and surrounded by walkable retail and dining experiences. The arrival of Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and other major employers has only added to the area’s draw.

While the dining space is new, the menu brings back fan-favorites and comfort classics. Lunch guests can look forward to dishes like Chicken Piccata, Cioppino, and Eggplant Parmesan, while dinner offerings include shareable sides such as smokey bacon mac n cheese, sautéed spinach, and maple-glazed carrots. The culinary style—described by Levine as “boldly eclectic”—draws from Italian, American, Gulf Coast, and Latin influences.

But more than the food, the experience of dining at Jonathan’s is deeply personal. Levine’s children, Sam and Jessica, manage other locations, reinforcing the restaurant’s family-run, community-focused spirit.

And for Cypress residents wondering if this is just another trendy concept, Jonathan’s The Rub has something different in mind. It’s a place to return to—again and again. A place where regulars are known by name, and where date nights, family birthdays, or just-because Tuesdays all feel like cause for celebration.

Jonathan’s The Rub is now open for dinner in Bridgeland, with soft opening hours from 4–9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 4–10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Happy Hour launches Friday, December 12, and will run Monday through Saturday from 2–6 p.m. Lunch and brunch service will be added soon.

For Bridgeland and Cypress locals craving a thoughtful dining experience close to home, Jonathan’s The Rub promises a flavorful new option—and perhaps, a new favorite neighborhood gathering spot.
