Jersey Mike’s Subs Plans New Restaurant Near Legends Ranch on Riley Fuzzel Road
Residents near Legends Ranch could soon have another option for quick lunches, family dinners and catered gatherings as Jersey Mike’s Subs prepares to open a new restaurant along Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring.
Construction filings show the sandwich shop is planned for 2927 Riley Fuzzel Road, Suite 350, in Montgomery County. The approximately 1,343-square-foot restaurant will occupy a second-generation retail space within a shopping center, adding a nationally recognized dining brand to one of the area’s increasingly active commercial corridors.
Jersey Mike’s Construction Planned for Riley Fuzzel Road
The estimated $300,000 renovation is scheduled to begin Aug. 17, 2026, with construction expected to be completed by Sept. 21, 2026. The project will include a full tenant finish-out with new kitchen equipment, interior walls and updated mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
The construction timeline provides an early indication of when the restaurant could be ready, although an official Jersey Mike’s opening date has not been announced. Construction schedules can also change as permitting, inspections, staffing and equipment deliveries move forward.
For families living near Legends Ranch, the location will offer another recognizable dining choice close to home, particularly for residents traveling between Riley Fuzzel Road, the Grand Parkway and surrounding Spring-area neighborhoods.
What Jersey Mike’s Will Serve at the Spring Location
Jersey Mike’s is known for Northeast-style submarine sandwiches made with meats and cheeses sliced in front of customers and served on fresh bread baked inside each restaurant. Guests can order cold subs, grilled cheesesteaks, hot sandwiches, sub bowls, kids’ meals, sides and desserts, along with takeout, delivery and catering at participating locations.
One of the chain’s best-known features is “Mike’s Way,” which tops sandwiches with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. That made-to-order approach, paired with freshly sliced ingredients, has helped distinguish Jersey Mike’s in the crowded fast-casual sandwich market.
The menu typically includes Italian-style cold subs, turkey and provolone combinations, roast beef sandwiches, tuna, club subs and several varieties of grilled cheesesteaks. Customers may also choose bowls that replace the bread with a bed of lettuce, offering another option for diners with different preferences.
From a Jersey Shore Sandwich Shop to a National Brand
Jersey Mike’s traces its roots to 1956, when the original Mike’s Subs opened in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Peter Cancro began working at the shop as a teenager and purchased the business in 1975 before building it into the Jersey Mike’s brand known today. The company says it now has more than 4,000 restaurants open or in development.
The brand’s current store locator lists more than 3,300 operating restaurants in the United States, including roughly 269 in Texas. Jersey Mike’s already has an established presence across Greater Houston and the Spring area, while continuing to add locations in growing suburban communities.
That continued expansion reflects demand for convenient restaurants that can serve several needs at once, from an individual lunch order to sandwiches and boxed meals for schools, offices, youth sports teams and neighborhood events.
New Dining Option Reflects Growth Near Legends Ranch
The planned Jersey Mike’s is another sign of ongoing retail and restaurant investment along Riley Fuzzel Road, where new homes and commercial developments continue to reshape the area around the Grand Parkway.
For nearby residents, the opening will mean more than another sandwich shop. It will add a familiar, family-friendly restaurant to a corridor used daily by commuters, students and households throughout the Spring and south Montgomery County area.
Additional details, including the restaurant’s official opening date, operating hours, hiring plans and grand-opening activities, are expected to become available as construction progresses.
