Inverness Estates Residents Invited to Support Local Students Through Precinct 3 School Supply Drive
As families prepare for another school year, Harris County Precinct 3 is asking residents to help make sure local students have the supplies they need from the first day of class.
The School Supply Drive, organized through the office of Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey, is collecting new classroom essentials at the George H.W. Bush Community Center in Spring. For residents of Inverness Estates, the drive offers a practical way to support children and families who may be facing the rising costs that come with back-to-school shopping.
Donations must be dropped off by Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.
New School Supplies Needed for Local Students
Organizers are seeking a wide range of new school supplies for students across the community. Requested donations include:
- No. 2 pencils
- Three-ring binders
- Backpacks
- Hand sanitizer
- Construction paper
- Crayons
- Erasers
- Glue sticks
- Graph paper
- Highlighters
- Index cards
- Notebook paper in college-ruled and wide-ruled varieties
- Pencil sharpeners
- Pencil cases
- Black, blue and red pens
- Rulers
- Scissors
- Spiral notebooks
- Spiral composition books
Residents do not need to purchase every item on the list to participate. A backpack, package of notebook paper or box of pencils can still help a student arrive at school feeling prepared and included.
