Texas Roadhouse Cypress Set to Open June 1, 2026, Bringing 250 New Jobs to the Growing Community

For many Cypress residents, the question over the past two years hasn’t been if Texas Roadhouse was coming — it’s been when.

Now, there’s finally an answer.

Texas Roadhouse has officially announced that its first Cypress location will open June 1, 2026, at 22020 West Rd, Cypress, TX 77433 near Grand Parkway, and the restaurant is already looking to hire more than 250 employees ahead of opening day.

The hiring announcement is creating fresh excitement around a project that has been closely watched since plans were first revealed by My Neighborhood News in 2024. For a fast-growing area like Cypress, the opening represents more than another restaurant moving in. It’s another sign of how quickly the community is evolving — with major brands continuing to invest in the area as new neighborhoods, schools, and businesses reshape the northwest Harris County region.

And for local families, students, and job seekers, the restaurant’s hiring push could bring hundreds of opportunities much closer to home.

More Than Just Another Restaurant

Anyone who has driven through the Grand Parkway and West Road corridor lately has seen the pace of development firsthand. New retail centers, housing communities, and restaurants like nearby Shipley Do-Nuts seem to appear almost overnight.

But Texas Roadhouse has stood out as one of the area’s most talked-about additions.

The chain already has a strong following across the Houston area, especially among Cypress and Cy-Fair residents who regularly make the drive to locations in Katy or along Highway 290. Having a dedicated Cypress location means fewer long waits across town and another local gathering spot for birthdays, family dinners, sports celebrations, and weekend outings.

According to company hiring materials, Texas Roadhouse is seeking more than 250 “Roadies,” the company’s nickname for its employees. Positions are expected to range from servers and hosts to kitchen staff, bartenders, and management roles.

A Brand That Built a Loyal Following

Founded in 1993 by Kent Taylor in Clarksville, Indiana, Texas Roadhouse grew from a single steakhouse concept into one of the most recognizable casual dining brands in the country.

The restaurant became known for its hand-cut steaks, ribs, made-from-scratch sides, and its signature fresh-baked bread served with honey cinnamon butter — a combination that helped build an intensely loyal customer base over the years.

Today, the company operates more than 600 locations nationwide and internationally, but the brand has continued leaning heavily into community identity. Each restaurant typically features local-inspired murals and décor designed to reflect the surrounding area.

That local connection is part of why many residents say the Cypress opening feels different from a typical chain restaurant announcement.

For longtime residents who remember when much of the area around Grand Parkway was still largely undeveloped, projects like this serve as another reminder of just how dramatically Cypress has changed.

What the Opening Means for Cypress

Beyond the restaurant itself, the opening also reflects the broader economic momentum happening across Cypress.

As more families continue moving into the area, national retailers and restaurant brands are increasingly viewing Cypress as one of the Houston region’s most important suburban markets. New commercial development along West Road and the Grand Parkway corridor has accelerated alongside population growth, helping bring more amenities closer to where residents live.

For many families, that means less time driving across town for dining and entertainment. For local workers, it means more nearby employment opportunities. And for the community overall, it signals continued confidence in Cypress’ long-term growth.

Construction activity is expected to continue over the coming months as the June 2026 opening date approaches.

Residents interested in applying for positions can do so through Texas Roadhouse’s online careers portal.

As anticipation builds toward opening day, many in Cypress are already looking forward to seeing the restaurant’s iconic neon sign light up along West Road.
