Hearthstone’s June Yard of the Month Celebrates Beauty, Dedication and a Love for Gardening

Hearthstone’s June Yard of the Month Celebrates Beauty, Dedication and a Love for Gardening

June 05 2026

For many Hearthstone residents, a drive through the neighborhood this time of year offers a colorful reminder of the pride homeowners take in their community. This month, one property is drawing extra attention for its carefully maintained landscape, thriving flower beds and welcoming curb appeal.

The Hearthstone Garden Club has named the home of Andrew and Tracy Roach, located at 15010 Inverrary Drive, as the community’s June Yard of the Month, recognizing the couple’s dedication to creating a beautiful outdoor space that enhances both their property and the neighborhood as a whole.

Set beneath the canopy of several mature shade trees, the Roach family's landscape combines structure, color and seasonal blooms in a way that immediately catches the eye. Neatly edged beds frame the front yard, while vibrant flowers and healthy greenery create a polished appearance that complements the home's classic brick exterior.

A Garden Built Through Patience and Persistence

According to homeowner Tracy Roach, one of the keys to the yard's success has been strategic planning and a willingness to put in the work year after year.

Among the standout features are white Ice Cap roses, blue agapanthus, pink hydrangeas and double raspberry zinnias, which provide a mix of color and texture throughout the landscape.

"I have white ice cap roses, blue agapanthus, pink hydrangeas and double raspberry zinnias," Tracy shared.

She explained that one of her favorite gardening accomplishments has been expanding her flower beds through propagation.

"To me 'Success' in my yard equals propagating my agapanthus in early spring to fill the beds."

Like many gardeners across the Houston area this year, Tracy has also faced challenges brought on by persistent rainfall and seasonal pests.

"One of the biggest challenges has been fighting black spot with all the rain and an all out war controlling thrips."

Despite those challenges, the landscape continues to flourish.

A Haven for Pollinators

One of Tracy's favorite features in the yard isn't necessarily the flowers themselves, but the wildlife they attract.

"My favorite plants in the yard are probably the majestic salvia because it's always full of pollinators."

That pollinator activity adds another layer of life and movement to the property while supporting beneficial insects that play an important role in local ecosystems.

The result is a landscape that not only looks beautiful but also contributes to a healthy environment for bees and other pollinators throughout the neighborhood.

A First-Time Honor for the Roach Family

While the yard has clearly been the product of years of care and attention, this marks the first time Andrew and Tracy Roach have been selected as Hearthstone's Yard of the Month winners.

According to Hearthstone Garden Club representative Carol Boyd, the couple was excited to receive the recognition.

The award highlights one of the many ways residents help strengthen neighborhood pride and community identity. Well-maintained landscapes contribute to the overall appearance of Hearthstone, create inviting streetscapes for neighbors and visitors, and showcase the care residents invest in their homes.

Why Yard of the Month Matters

Programs like Yard of the Month do more than recognize attractive landscaping. They celebrate the homeowners who help make Hearthstone a welcoming and beautiful place to live.

Whether it's propagating plants to fill garden beds, battling pests after heavy rains, or creating spaces that support pollinators, each effort contributes to the character of the community.

As summer continues and gardens across Hearthstone reach their peak, the Roach family's award-winning landscape serves as an inspiring example of what patience, creativity and dedication can achieve.

What Happens Next

The Hearthstone Garden Club will continue recognizing outstanding residential landscapes throughout the growing season, giving neighbors an opportunity to celebrate the homeowners who help make the community shine.

Residents who pass by 15010 Inverarry Drive this month may want to take a moment to admire the colorful blooms, thriving agapanthus and pollinator-friendly plantings that earned Andrew and Tracy Roach this well-deserved honor.
