Hearthstone Cat Missing Three Months Finally Home Safe

Hearthstone Cat Missing Three Months Finally Home Safe

March 21 2024

After an arduous three-month search, Gnocchi, the beloved calico cat owned by Hearthstone resident Brittany Hiett, has been found safe and returned to her grateful owner. The saga of Gnocchi's protracted disappearance began in January when the strictly indoor cat unfortunately found her way outdoors into the unfamiliar surroundings of the neighborhood off Tunbury and Cart Gate.

News of Gnocchi's misadventure quickly spread through Hearthstone. Inspired by Hiett's persistent efforts to find her pet, residents rallied to aid in the search. Many neighbors even incorporated the hunt for Gnocchi into their daily walks, their eyes ever vigilant for any sign of the small, shy calico.

Hiett kept the community updated on the search, sharing information about sightings and trail camera footage. In an update on February 14, 2024, Hiett revealed that the cat had been spotted more than once on cameras by a local golf cart maintenance lot and backyard in the area, and found a tuft of her hair along her route.

Brittany's dedication, her father's unrelenting support and the compassion of neighbors paid off when Gnocchi was finally caught, coaxed into a trap by a feeding routine. Despite her underweight condition and an injured back leg, Gnocchi, after a good night's sleep and some much-needed nourishment, was soon back to her sweet self. As one can imagine, her safe return was welcomed with relief and joy, a testament to the power of community unity, perseverance, and love for our four-legged friends.
