Haunted Hayrides Coming to San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Fairgrounds for Three Nights
The fairgrounds that South Texas families usually associate with livestock shows, rodeo crowds and February traditions will take on a much darker look for three nights this October. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is bringing Haunted Hayrides to its fairgrounds Oct. 22 through Oct. 24, adding a new seasonal attraction to its year-round calendar.
The event will take place at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Fairgrounds, located at 3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219, the address listed on the official Haunted Hayrides event poster. Gates open at 6 p.m. each night, with hayrides departing every 30 minutes from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Guests will board trailers for a ride through staged Halloween scenes featuring scares and other encounters along the route.
Families Should Note the Age Recommendation
This is not being promoted as a gentle pumpkin-patch ride for small children. The rodeo recommends Haunted Hayrides for guests ages 12 and older, an important consideration for parents deciding whether the experience is right for their family. The attraction is scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only.
The evening does not begin and end with the ride. The organization says food and drinks will be available, along with a live DJ and San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Outfitters merchandise. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and spend time on the grounds before their scheduled departure.
The Rodeo Grounds Stay Busy Beyond February
For people who primarily think of the property as the home of the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Haunted Hayrides also illustrates how the organization uses its facilities and volunteer network beyond rodeo season. More than 7,000 volunteers serve across 35 committees, supporting educational programs, fundraising events and the annual 18-day show.
That year-round work is tied closely to the organization’s education mission. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo says it has committed more than $292 million since its inception through scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, the calf scramble program and show premiums. In 2026, the organization says those efforts affected more than 17,000 Texas youth.
Haunted Hayrides itself is an entertainment event, but its October dates put another use on grounds that host everything from fundraising activities to agricultural education and youth competitions throughout the year. For local families and Halloween fans, it also adds another regional option during the final stretch before Oct. 31.
Tickets are being sold by date through the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s official Haunted Hayrides page. Because rides depart in scheduled 30-minute intervals and the event lasts only three nights, visitors should check the official event page for current ticket availability and departure options before heading to the fairgrounds.
