Granger Park Opens October 29 With Trails, Play Areas and Ribbon Cutting
A New Place for Montgomery County Families to Get Outside and Play
Montgomery County families will soon have another place to spend an afternoon outdoors. Granger Park, a new public park in the Grangerland community, will officially open Thursday, October 29, 2026, with a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray.
The celebration begins at 10 a.m. at 13919 Gulf Coast Road, Conroe, TX 77302, and everyone is welcome to attend. Admission is free.
The new park offers a mix of outdoor recreation, walking opportunities and play features that go beyond the traditional neighborhood playground.
What Will Visitors Find at Granger Park?
One of the park’s most unusual additions is Montgomery County Precinct 4’s first GaGa ball pit. For those unfamiliar with the game, GaGa ball is a fast-paced activity played inside an enclosed pit, where participants try to avoid being hit by a ball while keeping the game going. It’s a popular playground activity that gives children an opportunity to stay active and enjoy some friendly competition.
Younger visitors can also explore a children’s tunnel hill, a play feature that allows kids to climb through a tunnel and walk along the top of the hill. It’s a different approach to playground design, giving children room to climb, explore and use their imaginations.
For residents who prefer a leisurely walk, the park includes a perimeter walking trail. Whether it’s a morning stroll, an afternoon outing with the kids or a chance to get some fresh air after work, the trail offers another way to enjoy the new public space.
Dogs are welcome at Granger Park, too, provided they remain on a leash.
A New Gathering Place for the Grangerland Community
Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner Matt Gray shared his enthusiasm for the new park in the official grand opening announcement.
“We’re excited to bring something new and different to the Grangerland community,” Gray said.
He explained that the park was designed to give families an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities together and expressed hope that it would become a place the community could take pride in.
The addition of Granger Park expands the public recreation options available in eastern Montgomery County, giving families another place to enjoy the outdoors without having to travel to a larger regional park.
For residents who enjoy exploring the county’s parks, Granger Park offers a new destination for a family outing, a walk with the dog or an afternoon of play.
