Fuzzy’s Taco Shop Bringing Baja-Style Tacos and Patio Vibes to Copperfield Area in Houston
A well-known corner of the Copperfield neighborhood is about to get a bold new flavor twist. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is bringing its laid-back Baja-style vibe to Northwest Houston, moving into the former Fuddruckers location at 7250 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095. According to official permit filings, the new spot—called Fuzzy’s Tacos & Margs—was slated to complete renovations on January 9, 2026, and should now in the final stages of preparing to open.
With an interior remodel and the addition of a new outdoor wood deck, this 5,698-square-foot space is being reimagined to match the fun, high-energy atmosphere Fuzzy’s fans have come to love. Work includes a full bar installation, fresh paint and finishes inside and out, and a refreshed façade that aims to liven up the busy Highway 6 corridor in Harris County.
Goodbye Fuddruckers, Hello Fuzzy’s
This latest restaurant move comes after Fuddruckers closed its Copperfield location in mid-2024. The closure echoed a trend seen across the greater Houston area as other locations in Kingwood and Stafford also shuttered. Once listed under “temporary closure” due to vendor and maintenance issues, the shutdown eventually became permanent—sitting vacant for nearly two years.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, originally founded in 2003 in Fort Worth, TX, has since grown to nearly 150 restaurants nationwide. Known for its irreverent tone, bold flavors, and “good vibes only” attitude, Fuzzy’s serves everything from crispy tacos and loaded nachos to breakfast burritos, churros, and margaritas that keep crowds coming back.
