From Garage Gym to Porter Storefront: Taylored Fitness Prepares for October Opening

Caney Mills  /
September 11 2026

For Taylor Livoti, opening a gym in Porter is about more than putting a sign on a building. It marks the next chapter of a business that started much closer to home — literally, in her garage.

Livoti, a former athlete and educator who owns Taylored Fitness, is preparing to move her growing personal-training and nutrition business into a commercial space at 21974 FM 1314, Suites A and B, in Porter. An October 2026 grand opening is planned.

The move gives another locally grown, women-led small business a permanent storefront along one of Porter’s busiest corridors, while giving area residents a new option for personal training, strength training, small-group fitness and nutrition coaching close to home.

“October 2026, Taylored Fitness finally gets a home,” Livoti wrote while sharing the news of the upcoming move.

A Fitness Business Built From the Ground Up

Taylored Fitness has grown from Livoti’s home-based operation into a coaching business centered on fitness education, nutrition and sustainable habits.

That teaching component is closely tied to Livoti’s own background. She holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and is a Texas-certified secondary teacher, according to her professional profile. She also competed in women’s beach volleyball on an athletic scholarship while attending Houston Baptist University, now Houston Christian University.

Her fitness business carries some of that educator mindset into the gym.

Taylored Fitness describes its coaching philosophy as helping clients understand why they are making changes rather than simply handing them a workout or meal plan. Its existing programs include customized fitness and nutrition plans, education about macronutrients, lifting instruction and ongoing coaching designed to help clients become more confident and independent.

Livoti said the Porter location will build on that approach.

“Taylored Fitness will be a personal training + small group/class-based gym focused heavily on strength training, building confidence, fat loss, nutrition and actually teaching you how to create habits you can maintain outside of the gym,” she wrote.

Creating a Gym That Feels Approachable

For people who have ever walked into a gym and immediately wondered where to begin, Livoti said that feeling is exactly what she hopes to remove from the experience.

“This isn’t meant to be a gym where you walk in, feel intimidated and have no idea what to do,” she wrote.

Instead, the concept is being built around smaller-scale coaching and a more personal environment, with an emphasis on strength, nutrition and learning skills clients can continue using beyond individual workouts.

Livoti described the goal simply: “I want it to feel personal. Welcoming. Fun. A place where you can get stronger, learn how to fuel your body, work toward your goals and actually enjoy the process.”

That philosophy is also reflected in the company’s existing nutrition coaching, which emphasizes balancing everyday foods and family life with individual health and fitness goals rather than relying on an all-or-nothing dieting approach.

A Change of Plans Leads to a New Porter Location

Getting to the new storefront did not happen exactly as planned.

Livoti told followers that difficulties involving communication with the building originally selected for Taylored Fitness resulted in a change of course and delayed the opening. Rather than move ahead with a location she did not believe was right for the business, she chose another space.

The new gym will remain on FM 1314 in Porter, essentially across the street from the previously planned location and closer to Grand Parkway/Highway 99.

That keeps Taylored Fitness in the same general area where its expansion had already been planned while giving clients convenient access from Porter, New Caney and surrounding East Montgomery County communities.

The move also represents the kind of small-business growth residents often see one step at a time: an idea starts at home, develops a customer base and eventually reaches the point where a commercial storefront makes sense.

For Taylored Fitness, that next step arrives in October.

More opening details are expected as the Porter gym gets closer to welcoming clients.
