Free SOS KIDS Back2School FAMfest to Help Magnolia Springs Families Prepare for the New School Year

July 09 2026

For many Magnolia Springs families, preparing for a new school year means balancing supply lists, schedules and household expenses. A free community event in Magnolia aims to make that transition a little easier while giving children a morning filled with activities, food and opportunities to meet local first responders.

The Society of Samaritans will host the SOS KIDS Back2School FAMfest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Magnolia Event Center, 11659 FM 1488 in Magnolia.

Admission is free for families and students zoned to the Magnolia Independent School District.

Free Backpacks and School Supplies for Magnolia ISD Students

One of the event’s main features will be a free backpack and school supply giveaway, available while supplies last. For Magnolia Springs parents working through back-to-school shopping lists, the giveaway may help cover some of the basic items students need before returning to class.

The event is designed to help children begin the school year with confidence while connecting their families with organizations that serve the Magnolia area throughout the year.

More than 30 community resource partners are expected to attend. Families will be able to learn about local programs, services and support options in one place, making the event more than a traditional school supply distribution.

Food, Crafts and Family Activities Planned

Children attending the SOS KIDS Back2School FAMfest can take part in face painting, kids crafts and a Touch-A-Truck experience featuring vehicles they can explore up close.

Free food and snow cones will also be available, along with door prizes, fellowship and additional activities. A Prayer Corner will be offered for families who would like to participate.

The mix of practical assistance and family entertainment gives Magnolia Springs residents an opportunity to prepare for school while spending time with neighbors and community organizations.

A Community Effort to Help Students Start Strong

Back-to-school events can have a meaningful impact beyond the supplies handed out. They can reduce some of the financial pressure families face, introduce parents to helpful local resources and remind students that their community is invested in their success.

For families new to Magnolia ISD, the event may also provide a welcoming way to meet local organizations before the school year begins. Returning families can reconnect with neighbors and find updated information about services available in the Magnolia community.

The Society of Samaritans, often known as SOS, is bringing together volunteers, community partners and local families around a shared goal: helping students feel prepared and encouraged as they head back to school.

The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Magnolia Event Center, 11659 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354.

The event is open to families and students zoned to Magnolia Independent School District. Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed while supplies last, so families hoping to participate may want to arrive early.

For Magnolia Springs families, the SOS KIDS Back2School FAMfest offers a helpful and welcoming way to begin the countdown to the first day of school.
