Fort Bend County Hosts Special Passport Fair Ahead of Summer Travel Surge
With summer vacation season quickly approaching, the Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office is stepping up to help residents avoid last-minute passport stress. A special Passport Fair will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Four Corners Recreation Center, located at 15710 Old Richmond Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77498.
The timing is ideal for families and individuals preparing for international summer travel, which typically spikes from late May through August. Beverley McGrew Walker, Fort Bend County District Clerk, is leading the initiative as a community service to increase accessibility and convenience for passport applicants.
“We understand that families are busy, and many people aren’t able to make it to our offices during the week,” said Walker. “By hosting this Passport Fair on a Saturday, we’re hoping to ease that burden, especially for those getting ready for travel this summer.”

A Convenient Option for Summer Travel Planning
Appointments for the Passport Fair are limited and must be booked online at fbctx.gov/passports. This dedicated Saturday event provides a timely opportunity for residents to handle passport needs early, particularly important as processing times can lengthen during peak travel seasons.
“Summer travel is one of the most popular times for families to head overseas,” noted Michelle Jochen, Chief Deputy District Clerk. “We want to make sure everyone has what they need to travel without complications.”
Applicants can find full details about documentation, fees, and requirements on the District Clerk’s website. All applicants — including minors — must appear in person. Special requirements apply for children under the age of 16, including the presence of both parents or legal guardians. If one parent is unavailable, a DS-3053 form, a notarized authorization letter, and copies of the absent parent’s ID must be provided.
“Getting a passport doesn’t have to be stressful,” Walker added. “We encourage everyone to plan ahead so that travel plans can go smoothly.”

Helping the Community Get Travel-Ready
The Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office has continued to expand services that remove barriers for residents. This Passport Fair is part of broader efforts to bring government services closer to where people live and work.
“We’re proud to serve our community and help make government more accessible,” said Jochen. “This is just one more way we’re making things easier for our residents.”
