Fort Bend County Fair Crowns New Jr. Royalty, Spotlights 2025 Queen Candidates Ahead of Opening Day
As the 2025 Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo gears up for its 89th year of celebration, the spotlight is already shining brightly on the young leaders who will represent the Fair throughout its 10-day run, starting September 26.

Among them were the six outstanding candidates vying for the coveted title of 2025 Fort Bend County Fair Queen—a role that comes with scholarship awards, leadership opportunities, and the honor of representing one of Texas’ most beloved county fairs.

Honoring Community Pillars Before Fair Week Begins
The City of Richmond recently joined in the Fair celebration by recognizing two longstanding supporters. Bobby Poncik, current Fair President, was honored with a proclamation designating September 26 as Bobby Poncik Day in recognition of his 30+ years of volunteer service to Fort Bend County youth.
Also honored was Marjorie Pollard and her family, named the 2025 Fort Bend County Fair Honorees. With a legacy of multigenerational fair support, the Pollards embody the enduring connection between families and the fairgrounds. Mayor Becky Haas, a classmate of Pollard’s, joined the tribute—an emotional reminder of how the Fair continues to unite the community across generations.

Get Ready for Fair Days: September 26 – October 5
Opening Day kicks off with the Fair Parade at 9 a.m. through Downtown Richmond and the crowning of the 2025 Queen later that evening. From livestock shows to rodeos, carnival rides to concerts, and scholarship competitions to pie-eating contests, the Fort Bend County Fair remains a cornerstone of local tradition.
The Fort Bend County Fair Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has awarded over 1,045 scholarships since the program began in 1979—a heartfelt reflection of the Fair’s deep-rooted commitment to local students and their futures.
